I put a while one in my 10 gallon with 5 betta sized fish and it lasted 2-3 weeks. **Q: Can this be cut smaller? I have a small 3 gallon tank with one fish. Can I cut this into 1/4 and only drop 1/4 of it at a time?** A: Thank you for your interest in this Tetra product R Queen! Yes, you can cut it into four quarters, and use just 1/4, in fact we highly recommend that in these smaller tanks. Keep the packaging, and aluminum for the date codes, and store it in a Ziploc back in your refrigerator for up to one month after opening it for the remaining portion. Please note that this food does NOT release on its own, many customers misunderstand the purpose of this block. The fish must swim to it to nibble on it. Therefore, one fish will not make a big dent in a whole block.
