All Milwaukee M18 Batteries up to 6Ah are in this type of plastic package, with the tiny plastic rivet type markings, from the way they seal the packaging. Also the lightening bolt on the top of the batteries are not colored. There is a dimple on the top of the battery that can be in different places, depending on which country it was made in, before being imported back into the USA. I thought this was a sign of being fake until I bought a set of real batteries that had it in a different place. The bottom the real batteries is a rubber that is formed onto the plastic housing when made, not all one piece of hard plastic, like the fake Chinese batteries. Real batteries has a rectangle shaped air hole on the bottom of the battery, the fake ones have a square air hole. The battery cells can be seen through this hole and it GRAY in a real battery, PURPLE in a fake battery. The fonts used on real batteries is thin, with normal gaps between words, fake have thick font letters, which does not give the text room for proper spacing. I attached photos to this review to show how to know if you are getting a fake battery, even before you get it.
