Review: Not perfect, but still the closest thing to it. - I've been using this for about a week. It's not perfect (I have yet to find a mouse with the just-right combination of features and configuration that I would consider the ideal) but comes closest. Pros: Good build quality for the price Excellent (almost ideal) side-buttons configuration (mix of 2 larger and 8 smaller programmable buttons). Much preferable to the more common 12-button grid. It's the best setup I could find, even compared to others three times its price, which is why it seems only fair to give it 5 stars even though it's not perfect. Very high mapping configurability - Every button except the Mode Switch is programmable, even the left and right click. Program buttons to Shortcuts, Browser and OS actions, Media actions, Individual keys, custom gaming control, Mouse Configs (DPI/Mode), or Macros. You can also set up different modes, meaning you aren't limited to one control set. Maybe you have one for web browsing, another for FPS games, another for Photoshop, etc. An unexpected plus; I was surprised to find the mouse apparently stores its programmed commands locally; I am able to use it with my work computer (via KVM switch) without installing the software locally - it remembers the commands I programmed on my home computer. Cons: It's a little too big, at least for me - feels huge in my hand (male M/L glove size). A pretty big gripe for me is the matte coating on the clicker buttons. It collects oil (fingerprints) and immediately starts to rub off from use. I know it's minor but just a distasteful and unnecessary design choice, though it seems destined to self-correct over time by wearing away. This design would work better with the large (B/F) buttons sitting below the grid of smaller buttons (more of a resting position for the thumb). And as others have noted, the software UI is pretty unintuitive. The Save button to commit changes is labeled "Stop" which is confusing. As far as I'm aware there is no left-handed version of this, for those who prefer one. Wish list: If this had a thumbstick or d-pad and switched the position of the F/B buttons and the button grid, it would be ideal. With a screen for programming buttons (instead of using software), it would be unstoppable. Wot's uh... the deal? If you're just generally wondering why a programmable mouse, extra buttons, or why this particular unusual config, the possibilities are endless and highly personal. I have mine setup around enhanced navigability as well as one-handed operations of Shift-Click, Ctrl+Click, and Zoom (Ctrl+Scroll). 1 = Arrow Up 2 = PageUp 3 = Arrow Down 4 = PageDown 5 = Arrow Left 6 = Arrow Right 7 = Ctrl 8 = Shift Middle Click 2 = Home Middle Click 3 = End Other common uses: one-button actions for Show desktop, Media control, Enter, Escape, Undo, Gaming shortcuts, etc.
Review: Great mouse, weird software - Overall I'm happy with this mouse. Redragon is my personal go-to for budget gaming supplies, and I bought this mouse specifically for my job, because there are a number of weird keyboard shortcuts and sequences I needed to memorize for the software I use as a transcriptionist. Assigning them to macro buttons has streamlined my work considerably and genuinely improved my ratio of audio length to time to transcribe. I will say, I have very small hands, even compared to other women, so if you are a man with very large hands, you may find this mouse too small. It is a very comfortable grip for my small hands, and I'm able to reach all of the macro buttons comfortably, though 3-6 are the most comfortably in-reach. I find this mouse decently ergonomic and comfortable despite chronic joint pain in my fingers. The software was somewhat difficult to find and took a while to get used to. I really wish redragon would just make a singular app that supports all of their products instead of making me dig around web forums for a direct link to a mouse software they no longer keep on their website or have named so archaically that it doesn't come up when I try to search for it. I appreciate that the mouse can have multiple "modes" or macro profiles, so I can swap between my work macros and gaming macros pretty seamlessly. Recording macros is a little weird with the software, but once I found a tutorial online, I was able to memorize the process. I like being able to customize the light mode and color, and especially that I can customize the light intensity, as I often find RGB products too bright. With this, I can set it to my favorite color and lower the intensity, and actually enjoy having an RGB product instead of finding it distracting or overwhelming.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Are the side button very sensitive or easy to press? I'm afraid that I'll accidentally press the buttons when I move the mouse**
A: No. I've had it for a good while now (months), and have never accidentally pressed any of the numbered side buttons. they aren't overly hard to press down or anything, but you probably won't press them unless you mean to. I've used it for normal internet things as well as video games, and it works very well for me.

I will say though, if anything, the two buttons above the numbered ones are a bit sensitive and I've accidentally pressed them a few times, but they aren't typically set to do anything in video games anyway if that's something you'd be worried about.

**Q: Does this require any Red Dragon Software to program?**
A: Yes, but its completely free of course. When mine arrived it came with some instructions that included the website. You just go on the red dragon website and find the model mouse you have. It's pretty easy, and definitely worth the time so you can change keys, lights, and DPI settings.

**Q: What are the dimensions of this item?**
A: including the flat side pieces at the bottom, it is right at 4 inches wide, 5 inches long, and about 2 and a quarter inches tall at its highest point.

as for width not including the flat extensions at the bottom, it is about 2 and a half inches wide.

It is a bit bulky compared to others, but I've gotten used to it, and it's actually lighter than you might think. I like the way it feels.

**Q: How noisy are the button clicks? I work on the road and my roommate goes to sleep earlier than I do and don't want all the clicking to annoy him.**
A: It is not very loud at all.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great mouse for a good price
*by M***L on September 17, 2025*

This is very comfortable and works well! It has a very long cord, good ergonomics and the buttons are pretty easy to use. It’s fairly light, quiet and I haven’t had a single problem it yet after a couple years. I’d say definitely worth the money. My only gripe is I don’t know if there’s a way to disable the lighting. I’m not fond of everything being RGB so it does bug me that I can’t disable that feature.
