Review: Good buy to get rid of dead zones for Wifi - This TP-Link Deco XE75 3-pack basically fixed every dead zone in my house. I've got a two-story place with a detached garage and I used to lose signal constantly in the back bedroom — now it's solid everywhere, garage included. Setup was stupid easy, took maybe 15 minutes through the app, and it walks you through placement for each unit. The new 6GHz band is noticeably faster for stuff close to the router, and having tri-band means my smart home devices aren't fighting my laptop for bandwidth anymore. Only real gripe is the price — this isn't a cheap upgrade. Also if you don't have a lot of WiFi 6E devices yet, you might not notice a huge speed boost right away, but the coverage alone is worth it. No more random dead spots, no more yelling "is the wifi down again?" from the other room. Would recommend if you've got a bigger house or just want to future-proof your setup.
Review: Easy to set up and use. Recommended. - Got these to replace a 2018 Google WiFi mesh set-up that was giving me trouble (one of the wifi extenders stopped working, generally the speed would slow down over time and overall it was very locked down in it's abilities to be customized). This TP-Link Deco solves all those problems and then some. Set-up was effortless, much simpler than the already simple Google process. I was a case of plugging the first device into the internet modem. Once the internet was connected the other two devices simply needed to be placed and powered up, they auto connected themselves. There are plenty of options to customize, like optimizing the channels each of the wifi bands runs on, ability to create a network specifically for dumb devices (like smart plugs etc) which then stay off the main faster network, a guest network with speed limits and even the ability to add a VPN onto the wifi network at source so all devices on the network benefit. So far speeds have been excellent. I personally didn't need wifi7 as my internet is only 200mbps and so wifi6 is perfect for me and the TP-Link Deco hits that all round the house.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Is an app or "tp-link account" required or can i setup and manage this purely from a local/web interface?**
A: Hi! To set up and manage your Deco Mesh system, the Deco app and a TP-Link account are required.

**Q: What’s the differences between the xe5300 and xe5400?**
A: Hi! The primary difference is the marketplace in which they are sold.

**Q: This only has 3 ethernet outputs instead of the usual 4? And where is the ethernet from modem input connection?**
A: Hi! Yes, the Deco XE75 is equipped with three Gigabit Ethernet ports. Any of them can be used as the modem Input, and the remaining ports will act as LAN connections. If you require additional Ethernet ports, you can use a Gigabit network switch for increased physical connections.

**Q: I read this is "6-stream". but what exactly is a "stream" ?**
A: A “stream” is a continuous flow of data that travels between a transmitter and a receiver. When you are watching a movie on Netflix, you are "streaming" the bits and bytes that make up the images and sound of that movie from a Netflix server to your smartTV or computer. When a router supports more than one stream, more devices can use that router at the same time without negatively impacting any individual user's experience. A 6-stream router provides six distinct channels along which data can be streamed. Note that some streams may be at a higher data rate than others and multiple devices can use a given stream at the same time. In fact, TP-Link claims that up to 200 devices can simultaneously use the WiFi network provided by the AXE5400.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Working great so far 👌
*by T***R on October 22, 2025*

Needed to replace the old Deco M4 which I have been using since 2018. It worked great but its aging showed especially with more devices connected to it and the large lot size of my house. It's close to 7200 sq ft with a guest house in the backyard. With the Deco M4, the wifi signal would be decent reaching to the guest house but the signal quality would drop about half or more. And, I needed at least 4 mesh satellites to relay the wifi signal. The XE75 changed all that. With the wifi 6e technology, wifi signal is a lot better and no more traffic getting congested. The wifi signal in the guest house is getting about 70 to 80% of the full strength signal which is good considering how far away it is from the main mesh device acting as the router. Also, the tri band feature is a super addition. Having a device able to use the 6ghz band is so good. Not to mention the upgraded wifi security protocol from WPA2 to WPA3. A fore warning, some older devices may not be compatible with WPA3, so it'll refuse to connect to the wifi even if you set the XE75 to support both WPA2/WPA3. I had one such device, an old iPad. To resolve this, I had to create a separate guest network within the XE75 app and set it to use only WPA2. Setting up the XE75 was a breeze. Took less than 15mins. It is also future proof. I'm looking to cut the cord with Spectrum (expensive and only has old cable internet) and switch to fiber internet with At&t. Unfortunately, 1GIG is the fastest offered in my area at the moment but the XE75 is more than capable to handle it. I bought the XE75 with a great deal on Prime Day for like $180 for the 3-pack. If you ever needed to upgrade your home wifi mesh, I highly recommend the XE75 if you can get it on a deal. If faster ports are important to you, I suggest looking at the XE75 Pro.
