Great if you can't have the real thing
Pregnant with severe acid reflux that makes me unable to have tomato sauce. Decided to try this sauce with low expectations and was pleasantly surprised! It's got a unique smoky flavor and a watery consistency, but it's not a bad substitute for the real thing. Don't expect real marinara sauce, but it's a decent approximation considering the main ingredient is different. Arrived without any cracks or leaks.I followed the suggestion of another reviewer about letting the noodles dry out before using the sauce to minimize the wateryness. With some ground turkey and parmesan cheese it was a pleasant meal. There's enough for probably 4 individual servings in the bottle, I'll freeze it and thaw it for future pasta meals so I can have my own little special dish since my husband is not a fan.

Delicious- but expensive for quantity of sauce.
It's wonderful sauce. I've made a few nomato sauces that did not come out nearly as well (although I'm continuing to work on it). My wife has a tomato allergy. We've gone through about 15 bottles of this stuff. It's GREAT as a meat sauce, Ground beef really balances out the sweetness of the sauce. Personally, I really like sweeter sauce--so I think it's perfect, but you can also just drop some vinegar or lemon juice (one teaspoon at a time) while heating and keep tasting--if you want to mellow out the sweetness. We've done it over zoodles and lots of other tomato sauce replacements. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is the price. AIP really should figure out how to get the costs down on these. And while it's KIND of true that a little of this stuff can go a little longer than regular sauce---NOT THAT MUCH. There's obviously a lot of love that went into this recipe. But we'd probably get a lot more bottles if it was a little more reasonable. It's definitely our goto (and only) nomato sauce for now--at least until I can figure out how to make something that tastes this good.

Awesome sauce!
Love this sauce. It is different then regular spaghetti sauce. It is watery and vinegar tasting. But it works for a quick and delicious dinner. I take the sweet potato pasta and add ground hamburger, this sauce and some nutritional yeast and it is the best dinner. Quick, easy and so delicious. Addicting.

Learn to make your own.
Find a simple (AIP, KETO, Paleo, whatever you need for your issue) recipe online. There are a million easy ones online. Get a cheap blender. Make the recipe, put it in a blender. Bam - done. Even if you suck at cooking you will inevitably make something so much better than this excuse for a sauce. I don't have high standards and I'm an average cook-but this was watery and tasteless. Also there was no exp date provided on the bottle-super sus. Make your own, save some $, be healthier and happier.

Belchfest
I was so hoping that this would be the savior for finding out I am intolerant to nightshades. The reviews made it sound wonderful. I have to admit I thought it tasted good going down, but my Lord, what happened to my stomach afterward was horrific. My stomach blew up like a blow fish. I started belching up the massive amounts of garlic flavor and was miserable the rest of the evening. Taking an Alka Seltzer didn't even touch it. I was still belching the sauce flavor up the next morning. I thought it might be the gluten free pasta I ate it with, so a day later I tried a few bites of pasta separate with nothing on it and then a few hours later tried one bite of the leftover sauce and one bite of the ground turkey (which I can tolerate, about all I can eat these days) and I immediately blew up and started belching up the garlic again. So this is not the sauce for me. At least I know I can eat the pasta!!! Now what to put on it....

Great substitute for tomato sauce.
I decided to try this product to see how it tasted and it was surprisingly good. It's a bit expensive, but for someone like me that doesn't eat nightshades (tomatoes, peppers, eggplant), it's a really nice substitute.

Watery & Not Worth the Price
The flavor was okay, but the consistency was watery. I really didn't feel it had a good enough flavor or texture to justify the INSANELY HIGH price, but I did want to give it a try since I can't have tomatoes. I can still tolerate red peppers, so if you can, my advice is to roast a red pepper, mix in some milk, olive oil, and spices, and it will taste MUCH better than this and takes under 10 mins.

It’s runny, but it’s delicious and a little can go a long way
Whether you’re new to AIP, mid-way, or just needing a quick fix for the old foods, this should be in your pantry. The consistency is going to be a letdown, compared to what you have probably known and come to love in pasta sauces. Give that up now. But the flavor is there!! Pair it correctly and you will never miss the alternatives. It makes an excellent not pizza, pizza sauce. Or put it with sautéed mushrooms and zucchini noodles, yummm! Try it because you have to, or trick someone else into it because they should. It’s a good, clean sauce and it will be an AIP staple for me as long as they continue to make it!
