Good Value for the money, installation could be better
The bars and brackets are very sturdy, and assemble very easily. The silver bracket on the inside has holes that are not as forgiving as the top bracket. The top bracket has "slots" so you have leeway to drill, but the silver bracket is "holes" not a slot. I ended up having to drill larger holes in the silver under bracket. Also, the bolts to hold the bracket to the roof twist in the bracket when you try to tighten it. The "slot" in the bracket is just slightly larger than the square piece on the bolt to stop it from twisting. Since I installed this myself I needed to use a needle nose pliers and channel locks to hold the bolts in place. Two people for this part would have been much easier. Other than the complications of installation, it took me twice as long as it really should have, it's a very sturdy roof rack.

Nice rack!
Fit nicely on my truck topper (I did cut the bars down a bit). Very sturdy. Looks nice. Have had these for a few years now without issues and 0 rust thus far. 👌

Seems sturdy, but beware of bolts
I just finished installing this about five minutes ago. Installation was easy enough, even though my topper is a bit rounded and not perfectly flat. It seems really sturdy and well made, my only complaint is the bolts. When I was tightening the last nut that holds the bar onto the mounting bracket, the bolt snapped. The nut was still going on just fine, didn't seem to be overtightened at all, but there it went. Even missing the one bolt it still seems to be strong enough to carry our two kayaks, and I'll just go get some good grade 8 bolts to replace all of the ones that came with it. All in all, so far it seems like a good buy, especially since it's pretty tough to find roof racks to go on toppers. Also, it does come with mending plates for the inside. I had ordered some separately not realizing this, but it was a nice surprise.

Most bang-for-the-buck-roof-rack available! And available NOW!
I recently (Oct 2021) purchased a ROOFNEST 'Sparrow' roof-top tent for my 1995 Chevy K1500 Extended Cab pickup and tried to order a Thule, Yakima and Rhino Rack system upon which to install it. "Sorry, but they're all back ordered with no restock date available!" (Thanks a heap, Mr. President, for taking such QUICk action to resolve the container cargo bottleneck problem at the ports...which is where all three of those popular systems are waiting for unloading!). Frustrated, I grabbed whatever was available NOW and that turned out to be the Vantech Universal Pickup Topper M1000 Ladder Rack w/ 60" Bar Steel Black assembly. It actually arrived a day early (a miracle?) and today I installed it on my pickup's camper cap (a LEER fiberglass type). This I did very quickly and with absolutely no problems with any of the components whatsoever! The fact that installation was such an easy 'snap' is a testament both to VANTECH and to the fact that any system that can be quickly installed by a hopeless clutz like me (with no inherent handyman skills to speak of) HAS to be great!Thank you, VANTECH, for providing a system that may not be THE status rack system (like Thule, Yakima and Rhino), nevertheless it is solid, well designed, well fabricated and very economical! In fact it's probably a good illustration of Occam's Razor applied...whatever gets you there satisfactorily and simply is usually the best (and wisest) approach to take!

Really awesome rack at a really affordable price
It is a really great rack and pretty easy to install but definitely takes longer than 30 minutes or an hour unless you're just really a whiz. I am a general contractor and it took me a couple hours but I really took my time and measured things 3 times before I drill through my camper shell. Looks pretty good and was really impressed with the strength of everything. Knocking off stars for Hardware is ridiculous I didn't use their bowls I went down to Orchard and bought stainless steel bolts but I use their washers and nuts and everything else. That is personal preference but that is mine and I'm not going to knock a star off for that

installation easy
This roof rack system fit my Leer truck cap perfectly. The holes lined up with the holes existing in the cap for an older roof rack system that no longer exists. Very pleased with the Vantech roof rack system.
