Works great
Brought this controller as our one had been well used a d just stopped work .Did not need to tune in to the tv .The only thing is the volume control does not work other than that great .Delivery on time and was signed for .

We have just switched from Sky to Virgin Media and we have a new TIVO box and one remote control was supplied. The engineer must have set-up the remote control to work with our Samsung TV because it could be used to control volume, mute and if you hold down 'Home' for a few seconds it will turn the TV on or off.But we have 2 sofas in the lounge and therefore obviously require two TV remote controls... We ordered this product as it looks exactly like the original supplied and it has pretty good reviews.When the remote control arrived it was identical, as far as I can tell, to the original and it feels the same when pressing buttons. We were very happy with the way it looks and feels. However, the volume, mute and on/off DID NOT work with the TV.I followed the Virgin instructions on the TV box which are as follows. But I couldn't get them to work for me. They may however work for you. Also the recommended 0030 code in the product description did not work for my Samsung TV. But I would try those codes first of all, they may work for you.Virgin Instructions in Help on your TiVo box as follows (usually works apparently):1. Make sure your TV and your TiVo box are switched on. Point the TIVO remote away from your TV and TiVo box.2. Press and hold down 'TV' and 'Clear' buttons at the same time, until the light on the top of the remote flashes green twice.3. Enter the code 0999 to access the TV code database - the LED will flash green twice.4. Press 'channel up' (Ch/\) button repeatedly until a code turns off your TV - the LED will flash green each time a code is sent.5. When your TV turns off, use your TV remote to turn your TV back on.6. Press 'Vol/\' button and 'Mute' button to check that the remote is working with your TV. If it isn't working continue to search using channel up until the next code turns off the TV, and repeat steps 5 and 6.7. When the Volume and Mute keys work, press 'OK' to store the code. The LED will then flash green twice.Alternative set-up. THE FOLLOWING DID WORK for me. A bit tedious though, but a thrill when one code worked.1. Do a Google search for 'virgin remote codes' and find this page '[PDF]TV Remote Code List - Virgin Media' It's a Virgin website (near top of the list) and find the codes for your brand of TV2. Point the remote controller away from the TV. Press and hold down 'TV' and 'Clear' buttons at the same time, until the light on the top of the remote flashes green twice.3. Enter the first 4 digit code from the above website list for your TV brand - the LED will flash green twice.4. Point the remote at your TV and see if the volume button works. If yes job done5. If not repeat 2, then 3 (use the next 4 digit code on the list for your brand TV) and then 46. Keep doing this and hopefully one code on the list will work and your new remote will now control volume, mute and on/offMy Samsung code was 20th on the list and was 0365. But it was worth it to get the remote to work fully with TV volume, mute and on/off. This is an excellent product and we were very happy with it. Finding the correct TV code and setting it up for your TV completes its usefulness.

Replacement Virgin TV Controller
Easy to sync Virgin Media TV remote. Hold down the BACK and TIVO buttons together until the activity light turns solid red. Release the buttons. The activity light will slowly flash yellow, then flash 5 times quickly. When completely paired, the activity light flashes yellow with each button press.

Genuine replacement
Like for like replacement works fine

Not genuine as advertised
Bought this to replace the original remote as the advert showed it to be the same. As in the photo, it is not the same and presumably not genuine. If I had wanted the one on the left, I could have got one cheaper elsewhere. Having said that, it does work, but cost twice what I needed to pay.
