Full-featured unit with great sound
At the risk of coining a phrase, this unit does all that it says on the box! The DAB is rock solid (other Roberts and Pure devices I have sometimes struggle in my home, even though we live up high and have clear line of sight signals all around). Very clear sound and good station info on the screen. I didn't even need to ask it to tune - it did it at first switch-on for itself. FM is not so good quality for me, but then I never use that. I also wanted a CD player in a small unit with good sound in my lounge to combine with the DAB facility, and this unit does that admirably with good track info on its bright screen. I haven't yet used the USB slot except to charge my iPhone - just to see if it did! But I shall possibly later record stuff on to a USB disk and/or SD card. I could also use it to playback material I already have on a hard drive. The Bluetooth link works very well, linking quickly with my iPhone 5S and I was able to pick and choose tracks and play them very simply on my phone up to the full length of my (long) lounge. The remote control works well, though I find its design with the IR link on the side rather than the end of the remote a bit ergonomically clumsy in use. Not a real problem!Though we are not talking good quality speakers here, I find the sound coming from the unit to be smooth across the range with perhaps a slight over bassiness on some tracks/stations but this can easily be attenuated using the bass treble controls or the built in graphic equalizer. I've been playing some jazz to try the range out and it copes admirably with voice and piano, and single instruments, whilst the treatment of bands and orchestras is fine, though not as full or 'spread out' as you would find from free standing speakers I guess.I wanted a small unit with good quality sound combining DAB and CD playing facilties and this Roberts Blutune 200 certainly fits the bill. The other facilities it has are certainly an added bonus and I shall be using them. But the bottom line for me was 'Does it play DAB and CDs and is the quality and level of the sound produced good or better?' - and it is!

SUBLIME ROBERTS
My wife and I wanted a DAB Radio/CD for the bedroom. We have 2 Roberts DAB Radios in the house, and they have been fantastic, so it was a foregone conclusion that if Roberts made an All in One DAB/FM Radio/CD System we would give it a chance. We chose the Blutune 200 in the gorgeous Piano Black Finish, and it is absolutely superb!! It oozes quality, is reassuringly weighty, and has an exemplary standard of fit and finish. The sound quality is outstanding on both DAB and CD, erring on the rich and warm side of neutral which we both prefer. There is a Graphic Equalizer and separate Bass and Treble controls for getting the optimum tone control. We have left it on the Default FLAT setting which is excellent. The sound is weighty and does not distort, and the slot loading CD is a real joy to use. In our opinion this is a premium quality product, and an absolute bargain at Amazon's current price of £219 for the Piano Black finish. ( White costs £300). The Blutune 200 comes with our wholehearted 5 Star recommendation!! It has to be noted that we live just three miles from the Digital One DAB Transmitter in Whitby, and the signal quality from the built in Telescopic Aerial is off the scale, hence the fantastic sound Quality on DAB. FM is not so good, as the Bilsdale Transmitter is 35 miles away across the North York Moors, but that is not the fault of the Roberts!! It is also very reassuring to see the Royal Coats of arms of HM the Queen and the Prince of Wales on both the back of the Radio and front of the Box, so obviously there are others who also love Roberts Radios!Rev. An Excellent Buy
This is a very good looking unit and feels quite heavy and well made, more like a piece of furniture than a Hi Fi. The sound is fantastic which was surprising coming from such a small package. I found I could cancel out a lot of the Bass by using the manual settings. Regarding mentions of the display being too bright, I turned it down to the lowest setting and found it ideal for the bedroom. Reception on both DAB and FM is very good.My wife had been looking for a new cassette player to play all her story cassettes. I connected her old cassette player up to the auxiliary input and she loves the sound quality. I also have a Bluetooth transmitter connected to my Samsung TV and this connects with the Roberts Bluetooth to give lovely stereo sound. As we have an Amazon Prime membership, we have access to thousands of music tracks which can be played via my phone, iPad or computer using Bluetooth. Not really any need to buy CD's any more! I haven't had a chance to use the recorder or USB yet.If I had to complain about anything then it would be the poor quality and unconventional layout of the remote control. It looks like it belongs to a much cheaper Hi Fi. The text is also so small you can hardly see it, although you soon get used to what buttons to press. The text on the HiFi buttons is also very small and faint making it hard to see. These are minor irritations though so I would still highly recommend buying this.

Great Roberts-Sound even without subwoofer
Just received my Blutune 200. What a beautiful sound, nice bass and clear trebble - rich & full, well balanced audio. It has a very elegant apperance and it is very compact so you can arrange it almost everywhere you like. I especially like the built-in mains adaptor, so you can connect it with a regular powercabel without any bulky adaptor on the wall socket.I have not even used the remote control yet. The buttons are a little bit confusing in the beginning but I am sure I will get used to it. DAB, FM, Bluetooth, CD-Player and AUX-In work fine. I hope the CD-Player will work for a long time, cause I had some issues with built-in CD-Players in the past from various other brands.A true Soundsystem that sounds as good as my Sangean WR12bt or Roberts Stream 94i!Update: Yes, the remote control is really quirky and the bass is a little overwhelming at low volumes, especially for spoken words, but you can adjust that with the equalizer. The RRP 299 GBP is far too high for what you get technically, but it is worth the built-quality and looks. I will remain with four stars
