I HAD A VERY PATCHY LAWN BECAUSE OF MOSS TREATMENT. THIS SEED SPREAD, CONVENIENTLY, DIRECT FROM THE BOX, AND ACHIEVED GOOD SPREAD AND EARLY RESPONSE GROWTH. AFTER ONLY A MONTH OR SO, THE LAWN IS LOOKING FAR BETTER THAN IT HAS FOR A VERY LONG TOME! THANK YOU.

One day you will just wake up look out the window and wonder how on earth you suddenly have a lawn

First of all, this seed helped me grow a new lawn so it does work in that regard. Does it does this in record time whilst keeping the birds away? No. I saw the first shoots spring up about 10 days after sowing the seed which is average. I also kept having to shoo the birds away from eating everything I put down. It's over 3 weeks since I sowed the lawn and there are still bare patches where the seed hasn't taken. It's just lying on the ground, refusing to germinate. Even the birds don't want it. I lightly misted the lawn 3 times a day to ensure it never dried out so I can't really comment on the effectiveness of the Aqua Gel coating. I did notice that is was only on a quarter of the seeds at most which is probably why they ask you to shake the box before sowing so that it is mixed up. The coating isn't bright blue which you may be fooled into thinking from the packaging so don't panic when you open to box to see it look like every other type of grass seed on the market.I have to say that whilst this seed does work, it doesn't justify the huge mark up over basic grass seed.

I'm a rubbish gardener, so this sort of product caught my eye because it said "guaranteed to grow". I recently levelled a patch of the lawn, so had some pretty sandy exposed soil, partly under a beech tree. I was planning to put down compost, get rid of the twigs and weeds, etc etc. However, a couple of weeks back, after a spell of nice weather we had some heavy rain forecast, so I quickly sowed some of this stuff down, raked it over a bit and left it to nature. The birds came and ate their fill, but a fortnight later I had some (patchy) but good looking grass growing. I filled in some of the patches a bit, and now something like 4 weeks later it's ready to have it's first mow.I've also used this to patch in a few other areas - it seems old, compacted ground (even with a bit of a rake beforehand) is less good for growing, but all in all, I've been fairly successful at sorting out some pretty ropey lawn. I'd recommend it - although this is a long way from 'organic', so you don't get those bragging rights, you do at least get decent looking grass.
