Review: Not a gimmick ! Real quality shines through - Skullcandy "Crusher" Wireless headphones. I have wanted a quality pair of headphones for sometime and I thoroughly researched all makes and models at the €100 ish price range. I decided against some strong contenders from Sony, AKG and Sennheiser and purchased these as a belated Crimbo present :) No they are not perfect. Nothing to do with music reproduction ever is no matter how much you spend and at one time I did spend lots on my Hi-Fi. Now my criteria for music has lowered a little. Now all I want is for it to be enjoyable. What these can do is truly phenomenal. Apart from the battery that never seems to run out, and the easy Bluetooth connection to any compatible device, the main attraction is the music and the Skullcandy gimmick of making the bass notes an actual, physical thing. When I read other reviews I was thinking, yes, neat trick but is it distracting ? Does the other music get drowned out by the bass ? No and NO ! It's an amazing addition and blows cobwebs off your music collection.Nearly everything I tried was improved to a point. Some more than others but, overall, they make everything more enjoyable.Predictably, bass heavy productions come out well but they do on most systems. I played a full range of musical genres including Prince, Queen, Michael Jackson, Moby, James, Jethro Tull, AC/DC, Kate Bush, Lyle Lovett, John Hiatt,Talking Heads, Radiohead, and hundreds of others. Even Eminem and Nelly were briefly entertained ;) I also tried some chamber music and that was very impressive too. Just to see how they handle music with little bass. The very first track I played was Van Morrison-Rough God Goes Riding off his Duets album. Unbelievable. I had to lower the bass setting a little as my few remaining fillings were in danger of falling out ! I couldn't wait to try other songs after that. They are very comfortable to wear and the quality of the product is excellent. To think they have a pair of Limited Edition 360 Crushers for €300 is intriguing. At that price they must be a lot better than the standard ones and the competition at the 300 price point includes the supposedly unbeatable Sony WH-1000XM3. So if you're looking for headphones that you can use anywhere, these are well worth a listen.
Review: Amazing but people with glasses be warned - As the title suggests, these headphones are truly amazing but sadly the only problem I have with them (well, 2 actually but I'll get onto that in a bit) is the fact that they aren't glasses-friendly. With the amount of pressure they apply to your ears they certainly won't be coming off even with violent headbanging but that's the problem. They apply too much pressure. I'm not trying to say that feel awful but a swivel cup would have been a nice addition and wouldn't have added much more to the manufacturing costs at all. The sound: You buy expensive or audiophile grade headphones for the quality of the sound. I'm no true audiophile but I am heavily into crisp, clear sound with balanced mids and bass. I noticed a few people complaining about the sound but in all honesty, I can't fault the drivers at all. To me (and as I said, I like clear sound) they sound perfect for this price. The bass slider does kill the overall quality by making the only thing you can hear (and feel) is pure bass, which is why I recommend it just above off or in the middle. Feel: The feel of the headphones in the hand and on your head or neck is nothing short of exceptional. They don't weigh much in the grand scheme of things but they don't feel like they are weightless either. I think Skullcandy got the weight just right. Not too heavy but not too light either. Comfort: I already covered this on the first paragraph but I'll explain a bit more about it. They're decent in terms of comfort on your head. If Skullcandy made a swivel cup on the next revision of these headphones then I'd fall in love in an instant. But as they are, the angle of the cups isn't ideal, they apply way too much pressure to the lower half of your ear and if you've got a medium sized head then unfortunately you'll have to endure slight discomfort while wearing them. And if you've got glasses then it's even worse.. Battery: Now, this is a bit of a mixed bag. What I mean by that is the rated 40 hours, it might seem like a lot but remember that there's a lot more space to put a larger battery in compared to sports wireless earbuds. Yes, 40 hours is perfect if you use them while working like me, but overall its not that big considering the size and design of the headphones. Conclusion: Overall, I am truly impressed and blown away at how great they are! I'd never turn them down, ever! The only real consideration you should think about before buying is do you wear glasses, if so. Make sure you've got some sort of method to reduce the pressure they put.

**Q: The crushers that I received sounds kind of staticy when connected to bluetooth. Is this normal?**
A: Actually yes it’s normal in Bluetooth “headset” mode but not a problem with these skullcandy  headphones but the source device.  Ensure your device is configured for hi-fidelity audio mode and not “headset”. The mic will still work but audio will be what you expect/want. I have other headphones that also sound aweful when device is set on “headset” which the Bluetooth goes into 8ksps 1990’s telephone quality. Why that BT mode is still around is beyond me.

**Q: How long does it take for these headphones to break**
A: I have had a pair of these for about 10 years give or take. The plastic part that holds the headphones to the headband did break after about two years but I was able to tape it back together with some electrical tape about once every 4 or 5 months and they still work to this day, however after many years of use the battery life is down to about 10 hours of playtime on wireless use so I’ve decided it’s time for a new pair the old pair stillsounds just as good as the day I bought it they are just quite worn out.  I do use this headset for gaming so I have replaced the headset cable about three times over the course of the years but they are cheap around five dollars a pop

**Q: can you use these with a ps4**
A: Yes, with the wire they give you.  I’ve been able to use them with my iPhone and with PS4 with wire. Because OS4 doesn’t support other Bluetooth devices.

**Q: How does the bass compare to the wired versions?**
A: I have both the wired and wireless and I love the wireless more. The wireless has better sound and bass. Plus it seems to be of higher quality.

Its not for studio audio pro users. Its only for everyone who like bass. Sound is very good. Battery life is the best that you can get on any bluetooth headset right now. When it turns on and off you can see a purple light indicator. And if you put them on you can hear it say that its on. To connect with a device you have to press and hold the power key for 3 seconds then it will show the bt headset on your device. When its searching for bt device it blinks red and blue light indicator. When its charging red light indicates charging and after 2 and a half hour it will fully charge and green light will indicate that its fully charged. If you compare with other brands within this price range none can compete with it. I have used Sony / BoAt / Jbl etc but this is something. IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR GAMING USE I WILL SUGGEST THAT USE IT WITH WIRES. THERE IS A 3.5 MM JACK WITH A BUILT IN MIC IN THE BOX. USE IT FOR BETTER GAMING EXPERIANCE. Pros : *Good sound quality. *best battery life. *bass you really feel with adjustable bass slider. * premium quality. * will not fall from your head Cons: when you use it for the first time it will clam your head hard. After 1 or 2 days of usage it becomes normal.
