Colour pay off is good for being eraseable, and even with a heavy hand can be erased sufficiently although the darker shades will still stain the paper - which is to be expected when flattening the tooth of the paper. And these seem to work just fine! If you lean too hard, they don't erase completely but that's true for even graphite so that's no problem!
