Hi,We would expect a 2007 model to use fibre optics for the connection to the CD changer which would be compatible with the GROM-MST4 kit. Can you confirm if the boot connection has two fibre optic wires and a 4 pin power connector? This GROM-BT3 kit would be compatible if you have the wired connection in the form of 1 x 3 pin and 1 x 6 pin connectors.

Q: What does 'boot connection' mean? I assume you don't have to remove the head unit at all?

Nearly all BMW's include a connection for a CD changer typically located in the boot, as a Grom kit is pretending to be a BMW CD changer you can simply connect one there using the BMWT harness. Although very easy to install it does mean that your devices will be in the boot which may not be a problem if connecting a USB memory stick or wanting to stream music wirelessly, however for hands free functionality or cable connection to your phone you would need to extend these connections (microphone or USB cable) to the drivers area. Alternatively and providing you don't have the sat nav head unit you can connect the same kit using the BMWS harness into the back of the radio, this is a little more involved with regards to the installation, however everything will be located within reach of the driver. This choice is yours.
