It can mash more potatoes than my former ricer. Quite efficiently too. This item is well made and easy to use. I think it works superbly.

My years-old ricer was looking a bit gnarly, so I went in search of a new one. BUT it had to be easy to clean. The problem with most ricers is that the handle and the squisher can't be separated, making them a pain in the bottom to clean.I was pathetically thrilled to discover this one - because the two parts separate, making cleaning a doddle (so long as you don't lose the little bar and cap that keeps them together). Take it apart, sling it in the dishwasher and it comes out clean, without you having to faff around for five minutes under a running tap with a brush every time, cleaning out the bits of potato that never ever get washed away.It also works perfectly at its actual job - producing perfect, non-gluey or lumpy, creamed tatties.

Was worried when I saw other reviews but read all the details of this product including dimensions. Yes it’s big and quite heavy but works really well. Admittedly, only tried it on potatoes - creamy mash was what it was intended for and creamy mash is what we got so very pleased. Given the weight, anyone with any joint issues may struggle. Cleaning I’ve only done by hand as wouldn’t trust it in the dishwasher as want it to last. It’s fiddly to clean as nothing comes apart but a good rinse immediately after use makes it easier to wash up properly after you’ve finished your meal.Definitely happy with this but yes, you need to have space to store it!

Very sturdy, and the two grates mean that you can rice a lot of potato quickly and it is absolutely smooth. Not that easy to clear but that is a very small price to pay for wonderful mash.

LOVELY,LOVELY creamy tasty mash..... how good is this !So easy... peel and chop potato... boil until soft....drain into the scoop of the ricer and then squeeze handles together........ all your mash will appear from the base of ricer.... mix together well with pepper and crème.Really large and sturdy ..catering standard piece. You do need to squeeze quite hard, but most adults should manage.TIP: Place in water as soon as you have finished with itAnd we took ours to bits to clean...... Easy to do.

This is the first time I have used a ricer. It was amazing and so easy to use. It is sturdy quite heavy and great for the money. The potatoes were great no lumps. Cleaning it was ok you have to make sure and clean it thoroughly to get the potato out of all of the holes but I loved it so much easier than using a masher definitely recommend it

I purchased a similar item recently, but whilst it appeared just as sturdy it had design faults. The major one being the connection of the pushing mechanism which relied on friction. It failed despite my subsequent attempts at rectification.In this design the pushing rods are permanently connected and cannot fail in the same way.Personally, I don't bother to dismantle it, I simply stick it in the dishwasher complete.Time will tell regarding longevity, but as the basic design seems robust enough the signs are good.
