Its very twitchy so I am using a folded towel under the ball, as recommended in another review, to dampen the action and that has worked for me. I'm not super fit, but don't want my ankles to be the limiting factor to my favourite activities of hill walking, paddle boarding and skiing as I get older . It was hard to know which wobble board would suit best, but having looked at reviews for lots of them, I can say this one is definitely what I need - it's hard work! After a couple of days I've yet to master more than a fleeting true balance, but it's fun, competitive for various family members and certainly didn't feel dangerous for anyone with a reasonable degree of agility. It will make pressure dents in carpets as mentioned by others, but put the board on an old fabric car mat and it can be used on hard floors. Use a solid item of furniture to hold onto if necessary, however I found it ideal whilst doing the ironing - the ironing board giving enough of a balance point means I can continuously exercise my ankles rather than standing in one place without moving for too long.
