At first it was great, but . . .
I have been using this device for almost a year now. At first, I have used it as a receiver and it allowed me for reasonably reliable connection over longer distance, though nowhere close to 10 m.However, once I have started to use it as a transmitter, problems started, as it was not possible to control volume of the bluetooth speaker (a Bose product). I have contacted the vendor who advise that "The product does support AVRCP. But you can only use it to control the volume during the RX mode" . As it is, the product was of no use to me, and I had to ask for help. Vendor was not prepared to offer more than 25% discount on the order, which was not the solution, and Amazon kindly organised for full refund as I was prepared to return the item for it is not of any use to me.Also, another problem are short connecting cables, which is not unusual with many of similar products, so you should consider replacing it with longer cables. All together, quite reliable as a receiver, but totally useless as a transmitter as it does not allow for full AVRCP compatibility.

Worked great with a variety of headphones in a variety of situations
I read a review from someone saying how great this sort of device was when on a long haul flight as you could continue listening to the movie while visiting the loo. Well I did not try that, but I can confirm it works great on a long haul flight and made inflight movies more enjoyable without getting cables caught on the arm rest, tray or seat belt. Although understandable it is only shame Bluetooth cannot be used during take-off or landing but will go with safety over convenience every time so no complaints from me!Pairing to my headphones was straight forward, I'm using the Sony WH-1000XM2 on long haul flights and I also later paired the device with my Apple Airpods. Connection was solid and my headphones never failed to connect to the device when powered up. Only issue was human error as I had inadvertently moved the switch on the side from transmit to receive. In terms of audio quality, well even with a great set of headphones like the Sony an aircraft cabin is not the best place to rate audio but I would say it was perfectly fine, better in fact. And you could argue if you want the best audio use a wire! In terms of size as you will see from the picture it is pretty small, and built well enough for your average user.Well worth the £15!

1st one was faulty, but replaced quickly & FOC by seller and replacement works perfectly.
I bought this for its transmit functionality, to allow me too use my Bluetooth headsets with some equipment I have which does not have Bluetooth fitted - a TV and a desktop PC. Set-up was very straightforward, as was pairing. The instructions are in a small booklet, but everything I needed was documented in it. Performance seems mixed and dependant on the Bluetooth headset in use. I have cheap pair of headphones, which normally work well with my iPhone, but with this transmitter I get a constant hiss in the background. So loud it's distracting. But I have a higher end set of headphones, by Platronic which work well with the transmitter, there's negligible background noise. I've not noticed any lag with either headset. My other criticism is that you cannot use the device while it is charging, there's a lot of interference. So it has to be charged up, and used until it runs out of power and then recharged before it can be used again. In summary, it's fairly cheap and it works, but there are some drawbacks.Edit 12th July 2018: Following the above feedback, the seller got in touch with me and advised me that the unit may be faulty and replaced the unit free of charge within a few days. The new unit works perfectly in all regards, there's no background hiss and the unit can be used whilst charging with no interference. I've increased my star rating to four.

Get something else
I have bought quite a few different bluetooth recievers and transmitters over the years. I decided to stray from my usual brand and try this one, and it was the biggest mistake I've made. This device not only produces a very loud audible his, but also lacks the functionality to work whilst charging. This lack of functionality means that it is not suitable for permanent setups, and if you run out of power in the middle of use, you must wait for it to recharge before being able to use it again.Sending it back ASAP. I would not recommend you buy this product.

Bluetooth on tv
It's plug and play, i had it up and running in about 2mins, the pairing was easy and fast. There is a slight hum thats cause of the usb charge plug. What the hum is,It's cause the usb connected is charging the unit constantly , it's really faint but if you don't want to hear it, just unplug the usb.BUT keep the audio jack plug connected. The unit doesn't need to be in line of sight,it just needs to be in range, ive got mine neatly tucked away behind my tv and it works just fine ☺UpdateI forgot to mention in review. I Haven't noticed any lag with this unit at all, its been very stable , even when i do go out of rang taking the trash out , it reconnects automatically ☺Very pleased with purchase
