YOUNGMAN 313340 Easiway Aluminium 3-Section Loft Ladder

Fairly easy to install, just follow the instructions on the back of the packaging. I installed this by myself, and it took about an hour to do.Read the instructions. Do the install bit by bit and it will go up just fine.Need to check a few things before you start. The height this ladder fits is floor to loft floor, not ceiling, so it will fit the maximum height in the description, just measure accurately.All the bits are there to fix the ladder, plus a kit to convert an existing push up loft hatch. I had already fitted a drop down hatch so these were not necessary.You will need this ladder and another one to install the ladder, as it will not be fixed until you get into the loft to attach it securely. So one last time I carted the old ladder up stairs to install the new permanent one. Never again will that happen.You will need a square edge to attach the anchor brackets to the edge of the loft opening, and it must be sturdy wood i.e. a joist. Also the swinging arm to guide the ladder up and down should have one too, but if , like me, you have already boarded the loft out, this will not be possible unless you take up the floor. I have used some good strong meaty screws to attach this bit.All in all a very good product. Feels a little flimsy but takes a lot of weight. Is very lightweight and easy to operate.Just take your time to read the instructions, and gather all the tools you need in advance.It was easy to install once these tips are used.

The ladder was delivered to me all the way across Europe within four working days from the day of ordering. So a very fast and efficient service, thank you to Amazon and the supplier. Very good value for money even with 30 Sterling pounds delivery charges. I've read all the reviews before purchasing this product and the obvious weakness seemed to be the confusing instructions that come with the product. Please don't be put off by this, if you're a veteran DIY man like myself it will take you between one and two hours to put up without any problems. It took me an hour and a half from start to finish and that is without reading the instructions and with my wife refusing to hand me up my gear and tools. I think she even left the house and went shopping when she saw me pulling up my sleeves for yet another DIY job. There is a video on YouTube you can watch which is extremely helpful so make sure you watch that before you get started. A few observations however. The ladder is not designed for big heavy blokes and gals, it is very light, a good thing in my opinion as it helps with folding and storing, and seems a bit narrow climbing up. So it is not designed for big heavy blokes climbing up and down all day long carrying heavy cumbersome equipment and stuff. One last tip, my loft is quite high up, over three meters from the floor, so that means my ladder came out quite vertical. Again, I consider this a positive outcome, as the ladder is more sturdy that way as opposed to being more angled with the center of gravity more in the middle of the ladder as opposed to being closer to the floor which is obviously safer. I will try and post pictures of the final product but I can't promise you anything. I tend to be more familiar with a set of Makida tools than posting pictures on the Internet. Happy climbing

Very happy with this loft ladder. Instructions couldn't be easier to follow. Some parts were a touch fiddly but the instructions as mentioned are clear and concise with plenty of steps to stop any confusion, whereby some products combine the stages and create a proper headache. The only time consuming part is modifying your loft hatch cover to fit the size of the loft hole, as you need the hatch to drop down rather than push up.But the ladders themselves are easy to fit and work well, very light (less than 8kg all in when delivered) and handy. Only slight niggles I would point out is that being so light, if you're a heavier person it may feel a little flimsy, and the loft catch isn't the best quality, only being made of plastic.However, as far as value for money goes... This is an all round winner.

Excellent item - lightweight but robust and easy for hubby to fit in the loft. I'm regular weight and it feels fine to climb up into the loft - and hubby is a heavy chap and it suits him just as well - so that's a good test of strength ! Its a million times better than balancing a regular ladder up to the loft hatch and wiggle around precariously. Really pleased and with the price paid it was worth every penny. The ladder folds out and locks each piece in place so you feel very safe when climbing up - and it folds back up simply and easily.Highly recommended - as per the other reviewers comments - which is why I bought this one as it was so very highly praised - and for good reason !

Once I had this installed it was a great, well made and easy to use ladder.Installation is managable with some basic diy skills but you need to follow the instructions very closely and in the exact order to avoid getting to the end and having to go back and change things like I did. It can be installed by one person but an extra pair of hands would help, if nothing else because I had to keep moving my stepladder out of the way from up in the loft so I could extend th new ladder during fitting.Once it is fitted it is easy to pull down and extend no matter your height, and putting it away is easy as it clips firmly into place once put back up.I can't comment on the loft hatch fittings as I didn't use them in the end. Instead of trying to adapt my draughty hatch to open downwards I instead ordered a custom made airtight hatch from Jupiter Blue, and I'm happy I did.
