Lord of Silver Ashes: Rowan Blood, Book 2

It got even better, somehow?
If you thought Prince of the Sorrows was spectacular in both plot, world-building, and relationships... yes, it was, but Lord of Silver Ashes takes it all to a whole new level.Prince of the Sorrows was so enjoyable that I was already expecting something great going into book 2 of Rowan Blood, so imagine my surprise when, not only was I not let down at all, but was gripped even tighter by everything Lord of Silver Ashes turned out to be. While reading, I audibly reacted multiple times to what was happening in the book. The story pulls you in and makes the world around you disappear as you watch things unfold. Every moment felt valuable, important, and made sense. Everything that was written mattered and I truly cared--a lot--about every single world of it.Thank you so much to Kellen for letting the world read this absolutely stunning series. I am very excited for book 3, whenever that may be!

Dark Academia Fey, magic, and mysterious markings
How the hell is the second book EVEN BETTER than the first one??????? Like seriously, I fell in love with Cylvan and Saffron when I read Prince of the Sorrows, and I am even more in love with them now!The second book really leans heavy on the dark academia vibes and how important communication can be, as Saffron tries to complete a task set to him by Taran. Saffron stumbles upon a dark secret about Morrigan school and delves deep into the lore of the fey. There are up and downs, twists, shocks, magic, creative lies, mistruths, flirting, mysteries, and control issues.I can't recommend this enough!I did get a free advanced reader copy from the author prior to the wide release, I had already pre-ordered my copy so I am thrilled to leave my honest opinion.

Everything we waited for
I was so excited for the return of Saffron and Cylvan (ok, and a little for Hollow too). This book is just as beautifully written as the first with a bit more torture added in. Several times I felt my heart was just breaking for Cylsaff. There was just a little more spice in this book, thank you, Kellen!I have Kindle Unlimited, so I don't normally purchase books, but I was fully prepared to throw all my monies at this one! It's worth it, people!!!God, and now we have to wait for volume 3! I can't even. My battered heart is going to webtoons for some fluff. Cylvan and Saffron just crushed and revived me too many times for anything else.

Lord of Silver Ashes Review
I loved the first book and could not wait for the second. This book exceeded all of my expectations. It was perfection on paper and I loved every second of it. Saffron and Cylvan own my heart and I will read anything and everything about them. Cannot wait for more stories about them!

Unstoppable
The second book kept me at the edge of my seat. I was sucked into the world and characters that Kellen built. The humor, laughter, joy and sadness built up to the point that I will not put this book down unless I needed sleep. The wait for the next installment is going to be a slow burn. Can't wait for it!

even more wonderful than the first!
I utterly adore this book! This dramatic (and at times painful) sequel is the best I've read this year and quite possibly my favorite book ever. It definitely has had a long lasting effect on me-it was more than I had hoped for, and I was left thinking about it for days. It is certainly one I will reread again and again until the release of volume 3.More stressful of a read than PoTS, I had to put LoSA down several times and take a break. Despite the misery these poor characters go through, there are a lot of beautiful scenes as well- scenes full of devotion, love, and persistence in the face of all their suffering. The whole thing is a masterfully balanced blend of heart-wrenchingly painful scenes and more uplifting, hopeful ones.A new character is introduced and they are a LOVELY addition to this endearing cast of characters. Saffron really becomes quite the badass in this book, and Cylvan is ever the protective simp. I love them both. Thankfully, despite all the anguish throughout the bulk of the book, it ends on a less heart-breaking note than POTS. I eagerly wait to see where Kellen takes this story next and will spend my money on merch in the meantime.

The perfect sequel
Prince of the Sorrows entered my life in April and instantly became my most profound obsession and the specialest of special interests. The Rowan Blood universe is the air the I breathe and I couldn’t wait to read the sequel, hoping it would heal the wounds that fateful epilogue had caused. Oh boy, was I wrong.Just as Prince of the Sorrows is the perfect introduction to a series, with charming characters and an intriguing plot that has you on a chokehold from the very beginning, Lord of Silver Ashes couldn’t be more perfect as a sequel. It delivers on delicious angsty longing, expertly crafted worldbuilding and unexpected twists to keep you on your toes. With amazing new character additions, even more drama for Saffron to try and solve by himself (smartest dumbest person ever) and with the prettiest prose to last for days, I think it’s safe to say Lord of Silver Ashes managed to outdo its predecessor, something I didn’t think was possible.I used to think Prince of the Sorrows was a sad book and now I’m convinced it’s actually a comfort read. The amount of HURT/(no)comfort in LOSA and the incredible plot made this one of the most intense reading experiences I’ve ever had, it felt like I was holding my breath from the very first page until long after I finished reading. It was to give me the hardest book hangover of the season in the best of ways: I finished the book in two days and proceeded to spend the following week just thinking about what I just read, the nuances of each event and daydreaming about what volume 3 might bring next year. I can’t wait to see what Kellen has in store for the Rowan Blood universe and its characters, and I’m so grateful for the privilege of being part of this journey.

An absolute fav
Losa kick start two weeks after the end of prince of the Sorrows, we reunite with Saffron who spend all this time alone, and we're hit with the full angst power of his predicament.Honestly I didn't think I would love this installment as much as I did Prince of the Sorrows, but I was super wrong because I loved losa even more.I won't spoil anything except that for every bit of fluff or happiness you will be HIT by a full wave of desperation and angst. If you like the kind of relationship where their only goal is to protect their partner... what are you still doing reading this??? Jump in the train and read the Rowan blood series !!I can't wait to see where everything is going, to discover more secrets and learn more about the worls surrounding Saffron and Cylvan ♡
