Good Value Pack
Bought to use with an older model of Bandai badge maker, although they still look identical there may have been improvements. Having never used it before it was a bit trial and error for the first 5 or so badges, so there was a bit of wastage. All in all we got about 20 usable badges. It's the badge maker that fails more often than not, rather than the refills. Sometimes they get stuck inside the machine, other times the piecing together is just not tight enough despite the brute force used and the plastic is uneven and open round the edges. My 10 year old made 8 badges then got bored, I probably enjoyed it more than him, but looking back it was a lot of effort. The (real) pin snaps on the back after making the front of the badge, this is possibly a safety feature to stop kids getting snagged on things. Happy with the badges we made!

Good buy
Kids loved it, a repeatitive gadget the kids didn't really have to think about it, they could have quite easily ploughed through the whole pack of 30 very quickly. So could work out quite pricey. Shame the badges only came in one round size and that Bandai no longer do rectangular ones. This toy will only be coming out the cupboard rarely.

Badge it re-fill
If your kids have a badge-it maker you need this kit, unfortunately its only the small size badges from the original kit that you can buy (The badge-it maker comes with 3 attachments small round, large round and rounded rectangle) I don't know why they make a product that you can only re-use certain parts...oh well. Its 30 metal fronts and backs with acetates and pin backs. There are also a pack of pre-designed sheets to cut out and make the badge pictures from, but its much nicer to draw and design your own, it comes with a template so you know how big paper needs to be and where the design goes, not exactly value for money but you do get a professional finish. This is a re-fill kit so you need to buy or own the super badge-it maker first!

Badge It refill
I can't speak too highly enough about this craft set. All my kids have enjoyed it and it is still going strong after 7 years. We have endless badges around the house and they now use them as gifts and ways to publicise events and bands they are involved in. They made great additions to gift tags at Christmas and birthdays and really make all manner of cards personal.

Very fiddly!
Bought the Badge It plus refill pack as a birthday gift for my 5 year old grandson. Very fiddly and quite stiff to operate. By the time we'd worked out how to make one he had got bored and moved on to the next present! An hour later the part with the safety pin had fallen off. Although it pushed back in I'm not sure how long it will last. Also the safety pin is very small and quite difficult to actually put on a garment. Badges usually have the pin built into the back and are much bigger and easier to open and close. I don't think he will bother much with it.

My daughter loves this!
My 9 year old daughter has had such a lot of fun with this! It works really well and within a few minutes you can make very impressive looking badges using the sheets supplied. We quickly ordered a refill pack (they were reasonably priced at the time). She has made many badges to her own design for friends and family. The device itself is easy to use once you get the hang of it and she has no problems doing it herself (great for busy mums and dads!).

Works perfectly if you use it correctly.
I did a few tests, I used magazine cutout paper (thin and flimsy) and this didnt work well at all, the plastic on the badge split and it pretty much fell to pieces. However, if you use nice thick paper (I used glossy photoquality paper) then it works fine, I made over 30 badges with no fails. The only bad thing about the badges are the pins on the back.. very fiddly and not much use as a pro badge making tool.. they dont sit correct when they are pinned onto a shirt/jacket. But for a kid, this is great.. just remember, use THICK paper.4 stars, if the pins on the back were better I'd have given it 5.
