Entertained our 6 and 9 year old
I was a bit concerned about this having read lots of reviews which suggested it didn't work properly or was a bit flimsy. The one we bought has worked well since the present was opened and we have enjoyed watching the commando crawling as our children build laser traps and then try to get through them without setting them off.It didn't seem flimsy to me this one and works fine but there were a few similar products out there when I was looking so perhaps we chose the right brand and version.

believe the reviews (i didn't) this is made so cheaply that they have undermined teh entire function (which could be great fun)
The media could not be loaded. OH MY GOD! this couldn't be more dysfunctional! believe the reviews (i didn't) this is made so cheaply that they have undermined teh entire function (which could be great fun) none of teh pivots will hold position which mean teh laser line tilts in seconds and cannot be aimed at the receiver. The laser unit itself drooped to point into the carpet and there is no way to tighten. The side plastic bolts may look tightenable but they are only for show. Spynet must have made a workable prototype and then got greedy and found teh cheapest china builder to make. Send these back otherwise the manufacturer will not learn. Product should not be for sale.

Fun Toy but has problems
My initial review was scathing as I couldn't get the laser to work at all - even pointing it directly into the receiver and then breaking the beam didn't trigger the alarm. However, on retrying it in a dark room it works fine. Don't try to use this in a room with lots of natural light as it won't work. The other very annoying problem was that the head of the laser, the receiver and the mirrors keep dropping as their mounts can't hold their weight and are very flimsy. As a result the laser keeps moving out of alignment which is very annoying.Having said all that, my son has had alot of fun with it despite the problems. If the manufacturer addresses the above issues which seem to pop up in many other reviews, then this would be an excellent product.

These are awesome and would buy again
These are awesome and would buy again. My 9 year loved spending christmas day creating elaborate trip scenarios he could climb round. Could be fiddly for under 8 year old, but perfect for 9 and above. They actually work just fine except you can't see the laser of course unlike on the box illustration. However a squirt of hairspray reveals it in the dark.

Good boys toy
Good product for what is a kids product.Seen other reviews about mirrors not lining up - so thought it would be rubbish - actually easy to line up!!

Not really usable - weak fittings - good for short, single, direct tripwire without bouncing off the mirrors.
My son was going on about having these for ages and we got them for Xmas. I was a bit disappointed with the set. Each individual part has a very weak pivot fitting so every part slowly drops and points to floor when setup. This is no good as you have to perfectly position them to point at each other in order to get a continuous laser. The mirror parts were useless for bouncing the laser from as they just flopped to floor and we were only able to use the send/receive units pointing directly at each other. My son basically now uses the send unit as a laser pointer rather than what it was designed for. It would be very simple for the manufacturer to fix the issue by using a better quality fitting, and I think they should!
