I have "closed" hot water system, i.e. no water tank in loft. The Eddy Electronic Water Descaler has far exceeded my expectations. I purchased it really to eliminate it as an option to a full water softening product at many times the cost. However, the performance has proved more than adequate at reducing/eliminating limescale in my shower unit. **Q: If I install this product near to my stopcock do I have to clear a deposit from inside my water pipe at this point at some time in the future?** A: I'm pretty sure that you don't - at least I hope not! Ours is installed by the stopcock and I think that the scale is supposed to be broken down in the pipe and then just runs through. We have particularly hard water and I am not convinced that this is making much of a difference. We are going to have to invest in something a lot more heavy duty. **Q: my stopcock is behind the washing machines.
