Lazy Bones Chinchilla, Ferret, Large Rat Cage LBSA23 4 Level Blue & White. 65 x 43 x 140 Centimeter

My two boy rats needed a cage upgrade, after having this cage in the past I decided to get this one again (the old one sold a few years before) and I forgot how good it is. The large size allows for many toys, hammocks and sleeping places to be placed in the cage. The bar spacing is wide (2cm) but my rats cant get out. They are a year old but I do think the cage would be suitable for rats 5 months + (size of the rat depending). Really I do recommend this cage for rats but just consider getting some square platforms as well as the blue rectangular ones you get with the cage.

I bought this for a chinchilla (a quick replacement for a similar cage which broke). This cage seems quite well made and fairly easy to put together. This cage seems better made than our old one and the wheels are larger and easier to move the cage around if needed (they have brakes on for when the cage is in place). The only down side of this cage is that it could do with more shelves and slopes, to make better use of the size of the cage. There is a lot of empty space so could’ve had at least a couple more shelves. Also the slopes are very steep, the chinchilla went sliding back down the first time he tried to climb up, he now prefers to jump from shelf to shelf rather than use the slopes!

Fairly easy to put together though instructions were next to useless. Easy to clean, move around and access. Our chinchilla loves the extra space this new cage gives him and the lower door means he can just walk in and out. The extra side protection bit at the bottom helps precent mess which is great too. I wouldn't recommend for smaller rodents like rats as the bar spacing is a bit wide and they could probably escape unless they were full grown adults and I'm not sure the vertical aspect is best for rabbits or guinea pigs.

Very good cage, really sturdy and all though the bar space is quite large I found that my 4 month old rats couldn't get out. I love how strong it is and most important how is it is to access and clean which is so important with young rats .

Too bad quality for the price plus not good delivery service didn't have choice had to keep it for my ferret size though great

I Love this cage so must...Easy clean

I bought this cage recently and I'm super happy. It's a nice size, it looks wonderful, and it's easy to clean. However, the bar spacing is very wide - 2.5cm, roughly an inch. I put my younger male rats in first, and it didn't take long for them to squeeze out through the bars. Now my adult male rats are inside, and they definitely can't squeeze out. So be warned - young or female rats WILL escape! This is only suitable for large, fully grown male rats. :)
