There are no leds. The outside face has a Doberman security sticker on it. Because the discs are about 3" diameter they are a pretty visible deterent **Q: How long do the batteries last for?** A: It depends upon how often the device is switch on, location, and the quality of the batteries installed. My 2 devices are permanently on, the batteries have lasted more than 12 months. **Q: Are these left switched on continuosly or supposed to be swtched on only when required eg. when going out, please?** A: There is a switch on the unit. You stick the device on your door and switch on. If the door is vibrated the alarm will sound. If you want to open the door you would have to switch off the device but the rest of the time it can be left switched on **Q: can one remove the units without damage? Thinking for the future. Would recommend. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Good but..... *by M***D on 12 November 2021* I was not totally sure what to expect of these but I would agree with some of the other reviewers. These are so simple to install. Simply peel off of the backing and stick on. I did clean my window thoroughly first to make sure they stuck. I like the red warning logo that is the sticky pad - anyone looking from the outside can be left in no doubt what these are. However I fitted one to the glass panel of my front door and tested it. Oddly if you touch the glass panel directly on the outside of where the alarm is mounted it sounds and it is loud...certainly would deter any chancers. But when I opened the door with the door chain on even the motion of the chain abruptly stopping the door the unit did not sound. I needed several attempts to get it work. It seems location is very key here. Sensitivity of the alarm has been mentioned before but I was surprised that touching the glass panel immediately behind the alarm set it off but banging the door open against the door chain did not.
