Those wanting a decent size, usable travel set of acceptable quality for a very reasonable price could do far worse than buy this set.As others have noted, it isn't heavy. But, honestly, did you really expect ebony and ivory for the amount this costs? One things's for sure, it's a darn site more pleasurable using this set than one with plastic pieces and a cardboard board.The styling of the pieces is a like-it-or-loathe-it affair. If I have one criticism in this respect, it''s that the board and it's lettering doesn't really complement the pieces. But that's being picky. For this price, the fact that the board is wooden, folds, and has tailored spaces to house the pieces when travelling is enough to recommend it.Don't buy this if you want to use it as a centrepiece on a room setting. It's hard to win, though. But this chess set makes it enjoyable because the pieces are a good size and comfortable to use. I particularly like the way you can pack your pieces away for safekeeping. I would only say that the board needs a bit more sanding as it's squares are sometimes uneven and so moving pieces can fall over sometimes.
