Storage solutions
Brilliant bit of kit, bought with 2 x 3TB WD red drives, formatted and set up in windows 10 in 5 minutes in JBOD, one for my lightroom library and the other for RAW file storage, then both are backed up to my Cloud storage, it goes into standby when the PC is put to sleep and runs very quiet.** Update: this unit has now been working for all of 3 months, this morning the unit is dead - Avoid at all costs, the more I research this the more I find they are prone to failure, not happy, I have some RAW files on the unit to edit now I have to find another enclosure ***** I received a reply on November 3rd from the manufacturer of this unit in Germany, it is the responsibility of the seller to replace or refund for any breakdowns who in this case is Amazon, I have emailed Amazon and await a response, unit is fitted with a very poor quality cheap power supply, save yourself the heartache and lost work, spend a bit more and get a quality unit, I have learnt my lesson here***

High quality dual HDD enclosure
I'm using this with 2x6Tb drives attached to a Gigabyte Brix (5200) running Win10 Pro. The unit runs 24x7 as an IPC storage server, so is continuously writing the IPC video streams to disk. The unit has worked without issue and is using UASP over the USB 3 connection. The unit has a high quality feel and is of sturdy construction. The drives are mounted in separate caddies (not trayless). The fan is replaceable, the PSU is external and the unit has a power switch.I hope the unit proves to be reliable in its 24x7 role and I will update this review with any issues I have with its performance. So far, so good.

The idea was to have them in RAID 1 so I'd have a pretty reliable working drive when I'm doing video editing
Unsure about the reliability of this unit to be quite honest.I have two Toshiba X300 4TB 7200RPM drives in there. The idea was to have them in RAID 1 so I'd have a pretty reliable working drive when I'm doing video editing. Unfortunately, after transferring a 2TB project to the unit, the drive became unreadable in fewer than 24 hours. That's just unacceptable.I formatted the disks as that was the only option I had, and started again, this time in RAID 0 to get 8TB. I will see if this is any more reliable but if not I will just make it mount as two separate 4TB drives. The fan is not too loud, and the unit itself is nice looking. It doesn't get very hot even with the faster spinning disks inside. My only real issue, other than the RAID performance being sketchy, is that is came with a bloody french plug, so I needed to take the kettle lead off something else as I didn't have a spare UK one kicking around.SO yeah, just beware of using this in RAID modes, and make sure you give yourself enough 'trial time' before you start relying on it for a project!

Excellent Purchase
Small, quiet and easy to install HDD's, Testing with 2 1TB WD Blues at the minute but will be expanding and upgrading the HDD capacity in the future. In short, it works well, looks good and easy to use. 100% Recommend

Useless tat
UPDATE : DEC 17 : after initially recommending this product, I would now avoid at all costs , broken raid, 3 times losing all my data, random unmounts, that lead to the drives not mounting at all (I have a back up of a back up) raidon customer service are utterly useless !! Do not buy !!!ORIGINAL REVIEW: Nice looking & solid build & easy to use, I'm getting about 225mbps write & 240mp/s read speeds with 2 WD 4tb reds in raid 0. The fan is quite loud & noisy, next to my 27in Imac it over powers the noise so all i can hear is the raidon fan. The problem continues when u power down yr computer the raidon unit will power down but the fan remains on at all times & when its in yr bedroom at night its all u can hear. There is a power switch at the back to turn the unit off completely, but i have never had to physically switch off an external hard drive ever b4, its really annoying as who keeps a hard drive in a handy position to reach to the back of it & fiddle about with switches when u want to turn it off.Using it to store & work from my Lightroom catalogue with d810 files, the speed is ok (considering the huge d810 files sizes) but I'm guessing thats lightrooms problem.

Great Quality
This is a neat little box, very well built and heavy. The LED lights are very bright, possibly too bright for some. The fan is silent, at least I couldn't hear it. Im using it in JBOD as I have two different sized drives with stuff already on them, with this setup its not any safer but its a cool looking enclosure with raid options for the future.

Couldn't get it to work
Returned as despite contacting their support could not get this to work correctly. This was for my personal use and I work in IT and have configured many similar professional devices in my career so it was not my expertise. Replaced it with a leading brand which cost more but does the job

Great value
Surprisingly good for the cash, I had two spare 2TB WD drives and decided to hook them up into a Raid 0 for my Mac Pro, and despite the limitations of USB 3. (5.0 Gbps anyone?) the enclosure works well, is fairly robust (pain with the drive bay keys though). You could do a lot worse in Curry's
