Good manga

This product is the compilation of the two volumes that make up the manga adaptation of the FLCL anime. Anime that gets turned into manga always seems a bit backwards, and more often than not it ends up soulless, empty and generic. This is not the case with FLCL. Hajime Ueda's distinctive and beautiful art style fits perfectly with FLCL's layered, rich story. One complaint I see about FLCL both anime and manga is "I just didn't get it". I say you don't really have to "get it"; FLCL is a story made up of metaphor upon metaphor, and it contains allusions to everything from puberty to japanese politics, so it's not important to understand every little detail about it, but simply to take something positive or thought-provoking away from it. And it certainly left me with a lot to think about. Highly recommended. (lovely colour artwork pages as well!)
