Review: Works in my Windows 11 laptop - My old laptop has a built in xD/SD combo reader. I still use some old cameras that only use xD cards so I keep the laptop to use with the old cameras/xD cards. Until recently all still worked well but, presumably, a windows update changed something and now only the SD reader slot shows in windows. To be fair, the laptop is a 12 year old Win 8 original thing and shouldn't really be working at all with Win 11, but it does. My wife has an identical laptop running Win10 and the xD reader on that has stopped working too. That's windows 'progress' for you. However, I still have a shedload of xD cards with loads of pictures still on them. I find my Fujifilm F20s easy to use and the pictures are still ok, useful for eBay, meter readings, leaving in the car, etc. and, if I drop them, it won't be a disaster. I doubted an USB reader like this one would work but I'm pleased to say it was a simple plug'n'play installation to get to the picture files again in windows explorer. One of my better buys!

I had photo's copied to my desktop and uploaded to drop box well within 30 minuits To add to this the reader was in my hands within 18 hours from placing the order. Would I buy this item from LUPO again? Yes without hesitation. (If I needed it) Only negative if you can call it that,is its USB 2 could do with being USB 3 other than thats its a great bit of kit

**Q: Can you use this to copy pictures from the pc hard drive to the xd card?**
A: The PC recognizes this as an external folder and you should be able to copy and paste both ways

**Q: Will it take a fuji smart media card? Any advice gratefully received.**
A: Ooops!  1st of two apologies.  This is now corrected (I hope) to refer to XD cards, not SD cards.
Sorry to take so long - you have probably found,out the answer already.  I only bought it because I had an XD card from my Olympus camera which didn't 'plug-n-play' with the XD so-called dedicated socket on the computer.  This card reader has worked perfectly well with any XD card that I have used since.

A: This does not work - it requires too much power. (I am using this using an usb-lightning adapter)

**Q: Does this work with kindle hd ?**
A: We are afraid not.  It needs a USB port on either a PC or Mac

The item was purchased to read from an old camera photograph card. It worked well and the photographs were easily viewed. The only downside, it is a USB 2.0 stick which made the downloading of the photographs slower. But for the price it is worth buying, especially as we could view some memorable photographs from times gone by.
