I do this simply when releasing the seat to wash under the shower head. A quick check to see the underside fixings are still secure. The colour is very white and the finish shiny, something I had to get used to to prevent me sliding around. The only niggle I have is that the posts that the seat fits onto are not a tight fit to the seat and tends to move slightly forcing me to adjust it when I leave the bathroom.
