Review: Works fine for PC output to Monitor, despite confusion in the description. - Bought as our office upgraded their PCs, but nobody thought tho check we could use the existing HDMI monitors. Worked a treat despite some confusion about the uni-directional aspect listed as both PC -> monitor and monitor -> PC. In use the thickness is as the HDMI cable it replaced, it's nice and flexible and overall good quality for the price as per most of the desertcart Basics peripherals I have purchased in the past. Per the cable specs “Note: The cable is not a bi-directional cable—it can only convert signal from DisplayPort to HDMI.” I did not realize this and got one to connect an HDMI on the computer to a regular DisplayPort monitor, it completely fails. Like the cable is not connected at. **Q: Can i use this with an ultra wide monitor 21:9 2560x1080p** A: No it does not. I mistakenly purchased these without reading the description, and my monitors could not be recognized at their native resolution (was stuck with 1920x1080 for awhile and everything was stretched). Max resolution is 1920x1200 on this cable. What you need for ultrawide resolutions is a DP1.2 to HDMI1.3 cable. Look for buzzwords like "4k ready". **Q: Can i use this power strip charge it? https://www.amazon.com/dp/b074m9x1x5/ref=sr_1_1?ie=utf8&sr=8-1&keywords** A: This power strip has nothing to do with display ports or HDMIs. If you try charging your Monitor or TV it will cause a full phase reverseal. Image every atom in your body suddenly switching polarity twice the speed of light... not a pretty sight. All things you love and hate, memories you’ve made, trouble you’ve seen, gone in an instant. Do not power your monitor cables with a power strip. It is a fools endeavor. **Q: Can i use this cable to connect my xbox one to an asus pg278qr 27” 1440p** A: No, the cable sends signal in one direction: DP out to HDMI. Consoles have an HDMI out port, so it won’t work ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Works fine for PC output to Monitor, despite confusion in the description. *by A***F on 7 October 2026* Bought as our office upgraded their PCs, but nobody thought tho check we could use the existing HDMI monitors. Worked a treat despite some confusion about the uni-directional aspect listed as both PC -> monitor and monitor -> PC. In use the thickness is as the HDMI cable it replaced, it's nice and flexible and overall good quality for the price as per most of the Amazon Basics peripherals I have purchased in the past. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Good quality *by X***X on 9 October 2026* 100% working , fast delivery ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ DisplayPort to HDMI ONLy *by C***Y on 26 April 2023* This is perfect for my use case. However, there are some things to look out for if you want to buy this product. To start with, this cable cannot handle 4k 60hz as advertised. This may be because the cable connectors are DP 2.0 or HDMI 1.0. This isn't a problem because I'm only outputting from a GTX 1660 super, which can only be 1080p 60fps reliably. But if you are looking for 4K, I recommend using another cable. Another thing to mention is that the cable can only do DisplayPort to HDMI and not HDMI to display port as it is not an active cable. I don't believe the product states it can work both ways, but it doesn't say it can't either. Again, lucky for me, I'm displaying from a display port to an HDMI port, so it's all good. The cable is a particularly good build and super sturdy so you can be tough on this thing, and it won't break. I had to cable manage this behind a wardrobe and pull it through, which would've broken most cables, but this one worked perfectly afterwards. Overall a good product, the listing could just be a bit more accurate! ## Frequently Bought Together - Amazon Basics DisplayPort (Source) to HDMI (Display) Cable, Uni-Directional, 3 Foot, Black - Logitech MK270 Wireless Keyboard and Mouse Combo for Windows, 2.4 GHz, 8 Multimedia Keys, PC, Laptop, Wireless Keyboard Compact Mouse Combo - Black - Amazon Basics DisplayPort 1.4 Cable, 32.4Gbps High-Speed, 8K@60Hz, 4K@120Hz, Dynamic HDR and 3D, Gold-Plated Plugs, 3 Foot, Black --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.sc/products/50452691-amazon-basics-displayport-to-hdmi-cable-uni-directional-0-9](https://www.desertcart.sc/products/50452691-amazon-basics-displayport-to-hdmi-cable-uni-directional-0-9) --- *Product available on Desertcart Seychelles* *Store origin: SC* *Last updated: 2026-10-13*
