But as soon as my delivery arrived, the ducks happened to arrive from the lakes onto our green as they do every year for months and I scooped up a cup of these pellets and fed 7-8 happy excited ducks who loved them! I tried them with other foods suitable but they only ate brown seeded bread but now have healthy nutritious food for them. And even better still, they take longer eating the food and happily peck at ground finishing the lot off which keeps them busy instead of gulping unhealthy bread in seconds. Plus, the other birds finished off any little leftovers after they were chased by a neighbour's cat so this is EXCELLENT FOOD FOR DUCKS.. Review: That sinking feeling... but on dry land a scrum - The product is suited for birds that are being bred or who have ample land mass to feed on. The local ducks here are used to thrown food that floats and this sinks, so whilst I would recommend it if you keep ducks, swans of geese, its not for throwing into the pond. We have tried it in the hedgerows and our local tits and robins absolutely love it. However after being somewhat disappointed with the response from our local ducks who are more interested in Sunblest, we took a bag up to the local loch where there are a lot of very healthy looking swans, geese and ducks. It was a complete contrast as the birds went absolutely mental over it, and were practically in a scrum for it. We had taken up two brands, and of the two this was the product they were after. Two geese practically hunted us down and one of them when my partner presented the bird with the 2nd feed we had brought which was all we had left, actually pecked at him in outrage as if to say, I don't want that, I want the fancy fowl feed, so it just goes to show that this feed is very much enjoyed if you can feed it to birds on dry land, and its definitely not suited to throwing in the pond as its too small and sinks. We had two wild ducks in the garden and they wouldn't eat them. I took them to the local pond and the ducks wouldn't eat them there either!Eventually I just emptied the pellets onto our compost heap. Wasted my money. **Q: is this certified organic? for egg layers or just adults?** A: Not certified organic as far as I can see on the package. I used to feed my ducks with hen food but one got water belly. Once I changed them waterfowl they were fine. **Q: Is this a good complete food for male call ducks?** A: yes, I have call ducks which is why I got this as its a better size for them. Its the only food they will eat. **Q: Does it float on water?** A: This food does not state it floats and therefore it doesn't. I've given it to all may ducks (call, campbells, aylsbury, peking and runner) They love it. If I want to throw it on the water I use Charnwoods marine floating pellets.
