Review: No Screen Scratches, Healthy Battery - I was a little worried about buying this renewed phone because it was labeled as "Good" condition instead of excellent and $166 for a 256GB model seemed too good be true, but after using it for a month I can say that I got a quality product with acceptable compromises. First off, there are no cracks or other damage to the screen itself, but there are a few dings on the sides of the phone and many scratches to the metal camera bump on the back. I personally don't care about cosmetic scratches and I'm a case-only user so I don't feel the dings on the sides, but if you care about your phone's looks or never use a case I would recommend buying new or the highest renewed quality available. My second worry was battery life, but I am satisfied with the charge that it holds for my needs. As you can see in the first photo I have been using the Accubattery app for a month and it reports 3,400mAH (milliAmp Hours) capacity down from the design capacity of 4,300mAH, so it the battery has lost around 25% of its charge. In current year 3,400mAH sounds pretty poultry, but in real use I tend to get 6 hours of screen time without battery saver and 8 hours with battery saver on. I am not a heavy phone user, I average around 2 hours of screen time per day so I only charge once every two days (I charge from 30% or 40% to 100%), but if you rack up lots of screen time I would recommend buying new. I recognize that 4,300mAH isn't very impressive capacity to start with and reducing that further isn't acceptable for some people. This has been a huge upgrade for me from my previous cheapo phone that was becoming painfully slow and I am very happy with the deal I got. I cannot say that buying renewed is for everyone, but my experience with this seller has been an incredible value.
Review: Locked or Unlocked, that is the question... - I have purchased several phones from desertcart before this, each allegedly unlocked. But what are we asking when we ask that question? If a phone is stolen, it can be locked from being reactivated. A phone can be locked because the person you purchased it from didn't share their passcode to "unlock" the phone to make calls. Then there is Carrier Unlocked, which usually means it can be used with any provider's (like AT&T, Verizon, TMobile, etc.) system. There may be other things that unlocked may refer to that I am frankly ignorant about. Any time I've purchased a phone that was supposed to be unlocked, and it would not activate, the seller always insisted it was unlocked. Finally, with this Pixel 7, I seem to have a phone which is carrier unlocked, as well as not having a user lock. No warnings about using a specific network's SIM card were presented on activation. In fact, the phone appeared completely new other than generic packaging. It functions well, clean,no scratches anywhere on the exterior, initial setup was as if it was an unused phone. The screen has no "burn in" patterns and is bright and responds quickly to touch. Battery appears to be like new as well. I purchased this phone after using iPhones for about 8 years. I tired of Apple's insisting I buy more cloud space without an effective way to remove my photos (and KEEP them), the only choices being to delete them or subscribe for more cloud space. Apple doesn't have to do it that way, but they want you to buy cloud space. A dollar a month doesn't seem like much, but multiply that by 230million users! The cloud is probably the most environmentally damaging way to hang onto old digital photos ever invented. Also, if at some point the cloud loses your photos, you have little recourse. That is also the case if they change the rules about access to YOUR DATA. Research it. I you think you want a new phone, a good place to start your research is gsmarena. I like the Pixel series because there are custom ROMS, operating systems, that can be loaded in place of Android. Remember how I said I switched from Apple to Android? Well my previous Android phone wasn't to my liking, which is why I switched to iPhones to start with...and because MS messed up the WONDERFUL Windows Phone 8.1, I felt there were no other choices. I digress...in case I don't like the latest offering from Android I wanted options, like LineageOS and GrapheneOS. So far I am experimenting with the stock Android until I know it isn't merely learning curve that frustrates me.By the way, Google has their own dirty cloud, as does MS. I avoid them all. My final word of advice is to be prepared to return the phone, any phone. You might have just a bad example, or maybe it wasn't properly listed, or renewed, or unlocked. Mistakes happen. Or maybe the phone just isn't right for you. I didn't need to contact this seller for anything, I am happy with the purchase ! The seller was "thegadgetdeals".

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Refurbish job/quality control is ok
*by S***N on October 27, 2025*

(After some days of writing the stuff below, I dropped the phone only about 2 feet onto tile when I had a screen protector and case, and apparently the LED's shattered and made the screen all blue, and eventually unusable, totaling the phone. Maybe it's cope to say that the screen was replaced before I got the phone and was done so in an improper manner making it more fragile, or I just got unlucky) I got the at&t version. It came and worked fine with no issues. The screen was basically immaculate and came with a protector pre install as well. The battery health was at 84%, so higher than their guaranteed 80% but not fantastic. It still gets me through the day just fine. After about 90 days the phone said it was now carrier unlocked so that's neat. In terms of this product being sold refurbished there are no complaints but there are gripes with the phone model itself that aren't the sellers fault, such as the screen being slightly warm in color, fingerprint reader being ok at best, and getting a little warm in the hand from just regular use. All of these issues are typical of any pixel 7, refurbished or not, so just know what you're buying before you get this. Still overall very satisfied
