Works, up to a point, with my dog
I have a 21 month old Goldador who thinks he's a 6 month puppy. His ambition is to pull my arm out of its socket, dislocate my knees and put my back out, especially when he sees other dogs he wants to say hello to. On a lead attached to his collar he cokes. On a "standard" harness he pulls me over. In desperation I thought I's give this harness a go.The harness is well mage with a good strong buckle and handle to pull the "monster" back when he gets too friendly.Unfortunately I have found that when walking in a park type environment where other dogs/smells are present there is very little improvement in his pulling, perhaps 20% less. He still pulls, refuses to behave and as for walking in a straight line......When walking along a footpath there is a marked improvement, about 80% less pulling. I can only put this down to the lack of distractionsI was advised by a dog trainer to try a Dogmatic harness. This is a muzzle-like restraint the allows the dog to do everything it wants with its mouth and tongue. It looks a bit severe, however the results are outstanding, almostt 100% control! Not only doe my dog walk to heel, he automatically sits when I stop, he lies down when he sees other dogs and although he is still excited he behaves so much better it's incredible.I realise that his behaviour may be down to the nature of the resraint, but at least it's a start in his training.I have taken to using the harness when walking in a street and the Dogmatic together with the harness in a public open space. I hope to use the latter restraint less and less but, at the moment for the sake of my arms, it takes priority. One final point. Then harness is adjustable around the dogs waist for a nice snug fit. However the chest part is not adjustable. On my dog, similar to the one in the photo for the product, the harness is nearer the centre of his back rather than up towards his shoulders. Perhaps that is one of the reasons for its lack of effective control..

Quick and convenient
This has been a life-saver for me. My dog had orthopaedic surgery on his knee so was only allowed outside (incl garden for toilet) on a short controlled lead. I have harnesses for him but they’re a bit faffy and by the time it takes, my dog is too excited to go out on a walk that can’t happen! This harness goes straight over the head, clip and done. So easy and comfortable for him.I have had hit and miss experience prior to this in terms of helping pulling. The fact it goes across the chest does make a difference - but sometimes I feel less in control of him with the clip being so far from the point of pressure at the front where he’s pulling forward. It’s better than most, but don’t expect miracles if your dog is a puller. You’ll still feel it, just a bit less.

Almost perfect
I fitted this on my dog as soon as it arrived and the first thing I noticed was that you can’t change the length of the strap under his head so it looks a bit loose at times. At home my wife or I walk the dog, she has used it but doesn’t like it but I do, her issue is that when walking him she has no control over where his head goes and makes it harder for her pulling him away from other dogs, but I’m a bit stronger than her and I could control his whole body and pull him away. It’s because he likes to play but other dogs and owners don’t or if some are concerned about there children. It’s because the d ring is near the middle so he can sort of spin round rather than pull him away by the head that’s what I mean by the strap at the front being non adjustable. I’m sure it’s grand for lots of people but our dog loves playing and is very inquisitive so needs more control.

The best Harness!
We bought this harness at the beginning of April because Sasha kept pulling and choking with a lead around her neck collar (and I didn't like it!) we bought this and it instantly made a difference! We use it almost everyday and we've definatley got our moneys worth. It's really soft and comfy and still is even tho shes been on alot of muddy and wet walks. Sasha has lost abit of weight and the harness is adjustable so it fits! The harness itself is strong so at no point do you feel like it's going to snap especially when Sasha pulls because she has seen a squirrel! There's also a handle on the top where the loop for the lead goes, this has been handy because it gives you something to hold onto whilst you put the lead back on, or if you just need to hold your dog whilst another dog goes past etc etc. Overall, it's made our walks 200% better and Sasha has like a full on energetic fit when she sees we are getting it out to go for a walk!

32kg Hyperactive springador - would recommend
We purchased this harness as our almost three year old springador is a nightmare to walk on a collar and leash. He tugs and pulls and crosses your path, and leaves almost red raw marks on our hands at times as we are trying to hold on to the lead. He is so strong he could literally pull you off your feet. He gets walked twice a day due to his activity needs but it isn’t really an enjoyable experience. We have been using this harness for two days, his lead hooks onto the back of the harness and locks into place, he tried to back out of it once and it didnt budge. From we first put it on him he loves wearing it, even falling asleep when it’s on, it’s padded and not digging into his chest or shoulders. It has cut off the power he had from his neck and shoulders and is now walking either beside or slightly behind. He does still pull slightly if he smells something particularly interesting but this harness has made walk time a lot more enjoyable this past two days.

This harness is great quality and size Large fit my golden retriever perfectly.
I ordered a size large as my Golden retriever is 6 months old so although she is bit she still has a little more growing to do.. The harness has been tightened to its smallest setting and it fits super well leaving plenty of room for her to grow. I don't think I will need a bigger size for her this one will see her through to full size. One point of this harness I didn't realise is the clip to remove it has a little slide button as well so it can be locked once on so even though the click shut shouldn't ever come undone anyway there is the added security of the lock as well which I though was really good. The handle at the top is ideal if we were ever to need to pull her back quickly. This harness is five star quality with its padding. I would recommend this to just about everyone..
