A compact lightweight drill/driver.
A drill/driver of compact dimensions with a good power to weight ratio. I find this drill/driver really handy when working in a confined space where it still gives you plenty of well controlled power but is more compact and lightweight than an 18v unit , especially when you are hanging it on a belt. The hand grip is really comfortable and all the controls work with a nice positive action. Highly recommended.

Small enough for delicate work, powerful enough to undertake heavier duty tasks
Although purchased from another seller, I wanted to share my experience, having used this drill for a few months. The torque from the brushless motor is very high for a 10.8 volt unit, comparable to the Makita BHP453, an 18 volt drill which I also own, although the chuck is 10mm not 13mm. The torque settings are sensitive enough to be used in kitchen fitting situations including fitting hinges into base units or cabinets in the low speed setting without stripping the chipboard. Under load in second gear, at its top speed of 1500 rpm, it drills quickly and effectively into wood e.g.for pilot or dowel holes. I have found comparable drills with a top speed of 1200/1300 rpm to be frustratingly slower. The hammer action function is more than powerful enough to comfortably drill 4 - 6mm holes into brick and masonry. Finally, the drill is very compact and light, an advantage when trying to fix door hinges or rehang doors after decoration, helped by the trigger operated LED light. It will not replace a robust18 volt drill for heavier duty work or repetitive screw driving, but is an excellent, professional quality tool for the tradesman and keen diyer. I use it with the 4Ah battery which in practice has a lot more than twice the runtime of the 2Ah, matched to the DC10SA fast charger. That works out a lot more than the HP331 costs as a package, but I believe it is worth the difference, and prices are coming down. (I paid £48 for the fast charger from Amazon who at the date of this review are selling it for £31). Highly recommended for the range of jobs it can do backed up by Makita's 3 year warranty.
