The pliers arrived today, and I set to work this evening. The head of the screw is very thin - less than 1mm, by my estimate - however the pliers easily and securely gripped it without sliding off. Because of where the screw is positioned, it is obstructed by part of the inner PC chassis, so I was only able to rotate it perhaps 1 degree at a time. However, after a few minutes easy work I managed to fully unscrew it, and without any damage or scratching to the SSD board and PC chassis. I may never need to use these pliers again, but even for just this one occasion they have saved me considerable time and money, making an incredibly frustrating job quite simple. I should also mention that they're superb quality, over-engineered and finished to a standard I've come to expect from Japanese tools. Best few quid I've spent in quite some time.
