Good purchase
Just installed into my SilverStone case, it works very well. The hot swap drive [...] is pretty quiet, and has a power LED to show the drive is connected (this stays on always, it doesn't flicker to show read/write). The door hinge is sturdy and has a nice firm click.I will highlight that this product uses a Molex 4-pin peripheral power connector [...] as apposed to a 15-pin SATA power connector [...]. If you have no Molex power connectors, you will need a 4 pin female molex to 15 pin male SATA power adapter which are very cheap.Overall, I think this is a very good quality product.

Shame on you SilverStone...
Well it looks nice, does the job... Poorly... Now how long will it take till the card readers start to short out then the USB ports next. Because the fan controller is dead. Had the device about a month. SilverStone refused to fix the issue not even a attempt to issue a firmware update? Other than just just fixing the card reader... It feels like the control for the fan using the pitch slider may have shorted out or its just SilverStones poor attitude towards quality production. Oh yeah been hearing how great SilverStone is. Really... They suck. But anyways. Still charges my phones for now. Had to rewire the chassis fans back to the motherboard. Oh my it's difficult... As the port is in a tight spot... Hense why I bought a controller instead. Six chassis fans. Who knows maybe it was too much for the thing oh well. Maybe they should have thought things over. Also I was warned by another critic about it dying in a short time span. Can't be asked for a refund as I cannot find or trust another brand for a controller at the moment. And amazon is useless for refund requests especially is something is wrong tat a time like this in a middle of lock down. It's so much hassle. I'll just replace it later but anyway the fans work perfectly on the motherboard.

Great addition to a great HTPC case
A little over priced for what it does, but it looks great in my Gandia 09 HTPC case, giving extra USB3 ports and a USB-C port, don't really use the fan controller, but easy access to the SD reader is the biggest reason for the purchase

SilverStone SST-FP52S Fan Controller
SilverStone SST-FP52S; Bay Device 5.25" Thermal Controller Eudemon, silver Nice solid bit of kit, not quite as versatile as some fan controllers, it relies on using its temp sensors to control system, hdd and CPU fans ( which it does well ) however it has no manual control over fan speed unlike other units like NZXT etcBut for what I wanted it for ( spare file server ) it does the job fine, just leave it to its own devices and forget about itOn the downside, it has a date / clock that needs setting up each time you power up the system as it resets itself to 00.00 2001 ( again not a problem as my file server is on 24/7 but it would be a pain if you turn the PC on and off frequently ( some sort of backup battery would be nice )BUT hell it was only five quid, so not complaining LOL

Not a great product...
Silverstone SST-FP59B Multifunctional Front Panel...This product has failed within 2 weeks of purchase. First to go was the fan controller. I noticed that he 3 fans I have connected were not spinning and opened my machine to investigate. The fans are connected to the FP59B by way of a splitter cable so I disconnected this and reconnected it to a spare motherboard fan header immediately on doing this all 3 fans rotated proving they were fine. To check the FP-59B further I connected a brand new 80mm single fan to the fan controller and it would not spin at all!I had a look on Silverstone's website and found a firmware package for this device and downloaded it. I ran the installer EXACTLY as per the instructions only to receive the error 'Write fail due to SPI Flash Command fail or config ini not existed'! I have no idea what this means but now the card reader doesn't work either and displays a red LED (which was green before).Amazon are sending a replacement but getting to that stage was hard work. I cannot possibly recommend this item even if the replacement works without any issues. It appears to be poorly made (mostly cheap plastic) Not well thought out (old floppy style power connector) and horribly overpriced. Obviously i do not recommend this item and i would stongly advise to look elsewhere.EDIT: 06/03/2020 - I am now downgrading this unit further to just 1 star. Having received a replacement, the fan controller on this one has become almost useless! I originally had it connected to 3x 120mm fans which over the last few days it will only spin on the 'max' setting. Today I have it running only one, and even in this configuration it only works on maximum....very poor show indeed.

Great
A little on the expensive side for a front panel card reader, but it's easily the best one I've had. nothing excessive like Line, Mic, or SATA connectors, just the standard card reader sockets, USB 3 and fan controls. I find the fan control particularly useful and I have a couple of fans (I use a splitter) that I wan't to control manually in my gaming/desktop rig. This does the job very well, though I would have liked the lowest setting to spin them down at a slightly slower speed, its a small niggle. Nice digital readout on power too.Expensive but good.

Not a great piece of equipment
Drives stop working randomly when transferring, making it fairly useless. The USB ports are definitely not as reliable as the case ports. Speeds seem OK when they do work, and the powered USB port works fine as far as I can tell. Maybe I just got a faulty one, couldn't recommend it

It does the job, plastic is as expected and ...
It does the job, plastic is as expected and so is the colour. But beware of the intense blue light. Since this was for a living room PC, that light is close to the screen and is distracting. Similarly for a bedroom, it could be an issue if you want to leave your PC on during the night.
