## Description

Double parallel link arm design dramatically reduces vibration and noise, for extremely accurate cuts. Exclusive tool-free blade clamps, on-off switch, electronic variable speed, flexible dust blower and blade-tensioning lever are all located on the front upper arm. Arm design pivots from the back of the saw to the front and lifts so blade can be easily threaded through the material for inside cuts. Unique arm design keeps the blade perpendicular to the work. Oversized, cast-iron Table provides excellent material support and bevels 45 degrees left and right. Specs: motor 1.3 amp rating, 120V AC. 400-1, 750 cutting strokes per minute. Table size 16" x 23-3/4". weighs 56 lbs. Meets OSHA standards, CSA approved and U.L. Listed. Stand not included.

I bought this to replace an older *** saw that bounced all over the table and consistently dropped blades no matter how tight I secured them; the table was very small, making large projects difficult; blade changing was a real pain; it was very noisy... all of these things the Dewalt is not! It's quiet and just hums along as you push the material into its blade. With a bit of practice ( not much), blade change is easy and fast. The table is a large solid steel plate with a deep throat that easily accommodates large projects. Making small tight turns is easy, which was a real problem with my old saw. The tension adjustment is easy and right at hand with the off/on switch, making management of the tool convenient. The air blast tube is long, so you can use it from various directions or positions. Overall, I agree with the many online reviews claiming this unit to be one of the best, if not the best, scroll saw. Construction appears to be solid, well made and tight-fitting all around. It isn't cheap, but its well worth the cost.

**Q: Has anyone used this saw for pinewood derby cars?  Is it powerful enough?**
A: I am a professional scroll saw artist have been using a DeWalt for 20 years yes this would be an excellent saw for cutting out pinewood derby cars a bit pricey you could do the same with a lesser price to scroll saw but yes it would definitely cut out a pinewood derby car with no issues

**Q: How thick of a hardwood piece can this cut with ease?**
A: I routinely have cut hard maple that is 1 1/2 " thick often ....believe you can go a bit over 2" as long as you remove or slide the guard up to give clearance. Blade type and tooth number should be matched according to blade manufacturers recommendations. Go slow and don't force the blade. Keep tension tight to prevent pinching blade and breaking them. You may need to replace the blades more often and also using products designed to go on blade to reduce friction help. Just putting clear box tape on top of the article helps too.....the  plastic seems to lube the blade.

**Q: can it cut 16 gauge brass**
A: Though I have never cut metal with mine, I do have blades made for cutting metal. Pegas and Flying Dutchman both make a wide assortment of quality blades for cutting metal on a scrollsaw.

**Q: Does this saw come with the stand?**
A: no stand comes with the saw check out harbor freight thats where i purchased my stand and light for about $75which work very well but i did have to use a 2x12 board to mount to the stand.

This is a gem of a machine. It's quiet and just hums along as you push the material into its blade. With a bit of practice ( not much), blade change is easy and fast.
