It sounded like something running back and forth over the ceiling. I did not just place the traps around the room. I first checked the attic opening and the ceiling access area, then placed these LULUCATCH glue traps on the path where they seemed likely to travel. To help guide them toward the middle, I put a small crumb with a peanut butter smell in the center of the tray and kept the nearby area clear so they would not have an easy way around it. The larger tray is wide and feels steady when placed on attic flooring or a flat board, and it does not curl up like thinner glue boards. I made sure to use it only in a spot where kids and pets could not reach it because the glue is strong. I also wore gloves while setting it down so I would not leave too much hand scent on it. After placing it at night, I checked it the next morning instead of staying up listening to the noise.
