Review: Use a good cable! - I gotta say, I was super bummed when I first tried to get this going. I used the first mini usb cable I could find (a small fan?) and nothing showed up. I thought maybe it was a Mac thing, so I tried a PC. Nothing. Then, before I turfed it, I tried a cable from a ring camera that seemed higher quality. And bam, NO NAME drive on my Mac desktop. Copied a single 10min mono audio file (00001.mp3) and now I have a soundtrack for my model train that not only starts on power up, but loops! Couldn’t be happier. :)
Review: Makes a great golf cart backup substitute for the buzzer - I used this board to build a music player to replace the annoying backup beeper on my golf cart. It does not come with any instructions, but the info is available online. The default switch setting was perfect for what I wanted. I wired a single pole, 11 position switch to select which of the songs to play when power is applied to the board. Mounted the board and switch in a box that I mounted between the seats in the cart. Used a 20W speaker mounted next to where the existing beeper is. When the Forward/Reverse switch is in reverse, the + side of the 48V battery is connected to the beeper. I used that connection for the + to the board and the - for the board tapped into the batteries so that 18 volts is applied to the board when the switch is in reverse. The board contains 8 MB of storage, enough for up to 8 minutes of songs (I edit the sound clips I use to 30-45 seconds, they will just repeat as long as power is supplied to the board). I mounted the board on the back of the selection switch making up a small aluminum bracket to attach. Works great. I change the music depending on the season - for Christmas - Grandma Got Run Over by a Reindeer is going to be my number one song!

## Questions & Answers

**Q: What are the voltage specs for the UART TX/RX lines?**
A: The voltage specs for the UART TX/RX lines is 3.3V

**Q: Many sounds stop with a weird, loud glitching noise. How do I prevent? Is there a preferred format? Bad unit? I am using 16-bit wav 44.1k mono**
A: 1. It is recommended to use MP3 or WAV format music files
2. Use a 4ohm(<20W) or 8ohm(<10W) speaker, otherwise it cannot be driven, resulting in abnormal playback; At the same time, pay attention to provide sufficient power supply
3. The wire must not short circuit

**Q: I have a photoelectric pnp 900ma output ir sensor. need this to play a single song once that sensor detects an object. will this work? connections ?**
A: I purchased this device because it seems to have the ability to play a different sound file individually based on closing one of 7 contacts. There are a number of small modules that will play a single mp3 file with the closing of a contact that appears to be much easier to set up and configure. This item came in an envelope that contained absolutely no paperwork or even a link that I could see. So, the only data on its use appears to be what I can get off the Amazon sales page. I hope this helps. Good luck trying to figure out how to use it.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Wworks great and my girlfriend loves her new horn sound
*by K***D on 19 September 2025*

I programed it to say "lizard" (from the tiktok videos) everytime my girlfriend uses her horn. First time doing something like this, took me hours before I realized my micro USB was not data transferable, but after that is was very simple and easy to use.... not much information comes with it but Digital Town video #113 on YouTube was very helpful. Also for anyone else who's new to this. The triggers use negative to activate, not positive.
