Review: Fixes pretty much fixed all my problems with the original BlackShark V2 Pro - EDIT: I should note in the section where I mention my headset being on the latest firmware it came out of the box that way when I attempted to update the USB receiver and headset they were already on the latest firmware so perhaps the headset previously had issues and Razer fixed them with firmware and started shipping the headset that way. TL;DR Pros: Excellent package experience. USBC. Bluetooth. Custom audio/mic EQs on the headset itself. 70 hour battery life. The best sounding mic I’ve ever used on a gaming headset period. Cons: Still have to use Razer Synapse for tuning and firmware updates and can’t be done via mobile or Mac. No 3.5mm connection. No Xbox compatibility (though I still blame Microsoft for this). The Razer BlackShark V2 Pro (2023) really should have just been the Razer BlaclShark V3 Pro. This headset improves on the 2020 BlackShark V2 Pro in just about every way (except for one). The headset has the same great sound as the 2020 model which to my taste is okay but needs to be adjusted for a more neutral natural sound as well as being identical in design save for some swapped button placement and a sadly removed port. Also Razer’s package experience is still amazing the headset comes very nicely packed in dense plush foam so that it won’t get damaged in shipping. After that the similarities end the improvements start coming and they just don’t stop. The 2023 model finally ditches the antiquated micro-USB port for a USBC connector that alone makes the headset worth it to me personally but Razer kept going the headset now supports Bluetooth for wireless audio outside of Razer’s 2.4Ghz Hyperspeed USB connection. Allowing you to pair the device with things like your phone, TV, Tablet, Streaming boxes and so much more. Razer has also decided to allow you to save EQs and presets to the headset itself which is great for people who want to use this headset on console but would maybe like to use some of the specific esports presets or their own custom EQ. Razer also significantly improved the battery life going from 24 hours on the 2020 model to a whopping 70 hours on the 2023 model. Then there’s the mic I don’t know what wizardry Razer is pulling but between the hardware and the processing on the headset itself it is one of the best sounding mics I have ever heard on a gaming headset beating out some USB mics I’ve tested. Now I have heard some people out of the box have had issues with their headsets not saving settings or EQs and tuning not sounding right or having a static feedback when using the headset on discord but with my headset on the latest firmware I have yet to run into an software issues. I also saw one review here that claimed the headset isn’t compatible which Switch and that it (the headset) was false advertising but I can confirm docked the headset works via the 2.4 usb dongle but honestly just pair the headset via Bluetooth and then it works perfectly in docked or handheld mode. This brings me to the faults I have with the headset for better or worse you’re still beholden to Razer Synapse for tuning and adjustments and you still can’t do any of this via the mobile app which means a PC is required which is super frustrating if the out of the box sound isn’t to your liking or if you need to update the firmware and own a Mac. Razer make a Mac specific app and allow wireless updating and tuning via the mobile app it’s 2023 not everyone wants to be tethered to their PC. Secondly while this doesn’t bother me the headset should support simultaneous audio over Bluetooth and 2.4Ghz and while we’re on missing features probably my biggest gripe is the removal of the 3.5mm connection. Look I get it, in 2023 a lot of devices don’t have 3.5 anymore and I have moved on but I liked having it as an option and to see it removed is really frustrating especially when some of the competition who had skipped having a 3.5 before on their wireless offerings like Logitech are now offering a 3.5 connection and Razer isn’t. This also means unless Razer makes a specific Xbox version this headset is a no go for Xbox users without a Bluetooth adapter and then you still can’t use the mic. Though I still think Microsoft should get off their high horse and just allow USB audio like the PC (which Windows is Microsoft’s software), PlayStation and Switch do. With all that being said I loved the 2020 model and the 2023 model is no exception it fixes every gripe I had with the previous version and does it all at a great price point. It’s not perfect but what is. Either way this is my headset of choice and I will continue to use a BlackShark headset for the foreseeable future.
Review: Disappointing longevity - I've been using this as my main headset for over a year. Pros: Incredible battery life: I often forget this is wireless and once every week and a half or so I'll hear the little chime that says it's dying and I plug it in when I go to sleep, wake up with a 100% battery for another1-2 weeks. Comfort: I'd put this under pros, even if it didn't wow me, it isn't actually painful like a lot of over ear headsets can be. It wouldn't win any awards though. Cons: The mic which is the ONLY reason I bought this particular wireless headset is absolutely terrible. Not the sound quality, the sound quality was top notch like everyone said, but the reach, the craftsmanship, just could not be worse. It has this plastic casing around the arm of the mic that feels like it should maintain some rigidity when you adjust it but it doesn't it's like a wet noodle, you try and shape it to where you need it (Which it's already way too short to reach in front of your mouth) but it just wants to spring back and point away. No matter how you try to fix it, it does not work, and I'm inevitably hearing people say "Are you standing far away from your mic?" or "I can't hear you at all" Absolutely terrible design and quality. If you are thinking of getting this for the mic like I was, then think again. This will only disappoint you. I guarantee it. Buttons/charger port: I would say this sleek design really did not do the buttons or the charger port location any favors. The buttons don't feel easy to click at all on this smooth surface, so you really have to grab the entire headset and try and click the rigid buttons, or find which one you need. I don't think it's very intuitive, and it just doesn't feel great. It's not a huge con, but I would never put it as a pro so here it is. Also you'll never land that charging chord while you're wearing the headset, so don't even try. Overall: I would not recommend this headset. When there are much better wireless headsets that don't have a droopy noodle for a microphone, this headset's singular plus which was supposed to be it's mic quality absolutely falls apart when the only way to speak into the mic is to literally HOLD the mic in front of your mouth. I removed the mic and use a Yeti now because this thing was completely unusable. I can't say I'm surprised, Razer has fallen short of my expectations in nearly every product I've ever had of theirs, and I was fooled by some positive reviews into expecting this to be any different. CHANGED MY REVIEW TO 1 STAR: Broke after 1 year and 5 months. The cheap plastic around the connections literally shattered when I went to pick up my headphones. This makes I think the 4th RAZER product that has just become unusable in record time. I will never recommend another Razer product. Don't waste your money. Absolutely disgraceful to be selling products so expensive with such cheap materials.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Unmatched Quality

I have tried everything. Zone vibe 100, JBL nightfall, steelseries Arctis nova 5p, a Corsair headset I can't remember the name to, etc. None of them (NONE OF THEM) are on the level this headset is. The mic has no business being this good. Near broadcast quality. I use it all day for work and never have battery problems. Someone asked if I was ai recentyl--its that clear--and I work in a noisey call center The noise canceling through the software is superb and completely eliminates the need for things like krisp, but you'll need to understand how to use a computer. Not because the companion app is lacking (it is very user friendly) but because of other reasons I won't detail here as they are very specialized. The sound quality is UNBELIEVABLE, I hear an entire new layer to music, it's actually insane. It does lack some bass but that's ok, as it seems other headsets fake the impact of bass with cheap rumble tricks that my simple monkey mind is tricked by. The crispness of the audio is truly purposeful and amazing. It's very comfortable but there's some strain from all day use due to a sort've lacking depth in the overears. For instance, the zone vibe 100 are far more comfortable in weight and overear space that doesn't touch ear cartilage. I use the zone 100 at home due to its comfort, but this headset's audio quality for media is way better. The sidetone (YES, IT HAS SIDETONE) works while the mic has an output source, and it DOES NOT switch to a different audio mode to relay that. This means you can hear yourself while you play music for instance. The sidetone itself is a bit like a walkie talkie in its quality. Very clear, but lacks any meangful mids and is devoid of all lows. Again, this is just for the sidetone. Think phone receiver sound, while the media otherwise plays normal. Overall I am very very impressed with this headset (and I'm a total audiophile snob when it comes to headsets, obviously). Get this headset. Even though you might need a 5 minute break every other hour due to its somewhat lacking overear comfort, you'll truly be amazed by what this headset has to offer.
