I wouldn't recommend at all :(
I bought this thinking my hair would turn out similar to the box. It says always go a shade lighter than you think so on my ashy dirty blonde completely virgin hair I thought it would be lovely. Big mistake!! I really didn't realise it had lift/bleach in it, I thought it would give me a nice even natural highlight look. What I got was horrible :( it turned BRIGHT RED, and my roots were horrendous even although I done them last, they turned A LOT lighter than the rest. So I bought a light ash blonde hoping to tone it down, nope. Bought a colour stripper to remove the colour thinking underneath my hair will be my natural colour, nope its bright yellow/orange now meaning there was definitely lift :( after a few hours washing with toning shampoo I'm now left with a light strawberry blonde, but I have to admit it's the worst dye I have ever used.

The only colour ever which just works for me!
This is the only hair dye I ever use, it gives my hair such a nice vibrant copper/ginger colour when freshly dyed (for about 3 weeks). I found that as it fades after those few weeks, it becomes looking very natural. During the summer, the end of my hair was getting fairly blonde, at that time I mainly dyed my roots and overall it had this fairly natural looking ombre style. I've had countless compliments and questions if it's my natural colour. Absolutely love it.

Do a strand test on your hair before applying it everywhere!!!
This is a review for L'OREAL Colorists Paint : Permanent #Copper Blonde.About three months ago I went from blonde all over highlight to copper/gold in a salon. However the color from the salon was so much darker than copper that I had wanted and showed pictures of: it was basically red/purple and after paying loads of money for this I was incredibly disappointed. So after a month of putting up with that color (trying to give my hair a rest) I used a home color remover kit (making sure to follow directions explicitly) and was able to wash a majority of the purple color out. The color I was left with was really lovely. Yet the color that I ended up with also makes me think that perhaps if I had done everything your not supposed to do with red hair it might have faded to that color over time, but I was obviously impatient.Skip forward a month, my roots have really come in, but the length of my hair is still the lovely copper. So, to be sure that my hair didn't turn back to that red/purple, (which can happen with the color removers if it's not all washed out) I only did my roots.First Step: Strand Test. I did a stand test on a piece of my hair in the underneath area, just in case it would go weird. It might have been that the price was too small or I just couldn't get the right lighting to see it, but I couldn't really tell a difference for my roots...but instead of doing another strand test (which would have been safer) I decided to move along with the process.Second Step: All Over Application to Roots.I applied the mixture to my roots all over my head. I did initially try to do it in an organized manner, but eventually gave up.Once I felt it the dye completely covered my roots I put a timer on for 20minutes as per the directions. After 15minutes I checked the progress of my roots by rubbing the color away. The color appeared to be a nice copper tone so I left it in for the remaining five minutes and am pleased to say that my roots are now a lovely copper that is perhaps a tiny bit lighter than my length, but not by much. The only thing about this process I wish I had done differently is that I hadn't used the entire contents as half covered all of my roots and I felt wasteful throwing the rest out.
