The actual included brace pads had no such hole. Both straps have a section of velco at the ends and fabric material for the rest. To actually strap tight, I had to bend up one strap some certain way, arbitrary how you want to do it, but in the end with the velco tip bent back (think of it like in reverse or a U-turn) so that it would stick to the fabric end of the other strap as the bottom side connection, then tug the other strap tight over the bottom strap and velco the attach to the bottom strap or if tighter over it, the velco then goes towards the back padding at back of knee. I'd do a video someday to show what I describe better. This process ended up being more cumbersome than if it were like the instructions. I guess I get a variation of the product, not the one in the instructions.As for how they work once strapped on, they feel like brace splints to me but angled for bending. Maybe I didn't strap tight enough, they felt awkward and funny like not quite a brace splint, and not quite a knee support, as it is trying to be a bit of both. When you bend, the support offers some resistance so that if you say had weak knees or it gave out, you won't immediately fall to the ground, but I can't say for sure as I don't have that problem right now. Kind of reminds me like a knee sleeve designed for use with weightlifting where these offer some resistance to help support/secure your knee against the stress of the heavy weights.Now if only I got the original product in the instructions, that would have been much better for me, as it would be more comfortable to strap on. ### ⭐⭐⭐ Doesn't really work for us. *by C***C on May 29, 2023* We were hoping they would be helpful given that we're waiting to get our knees replaced. Unfortunately, it didn't seem to help any. For starters, these are not capable of working with larger legs. It makes velcroing them on almost impossible. The straps are also made oddly compared to most American things. Each side has the teeth section of velcro sewn facing down, and it's this way on each set of straps. There also wasn't much for directions, and each side of the directions wasn't labeled to explain which was which. So we actually started to remove the springs thinking it was necessary to set it up when really those steps were just for the spring replacement. The images make it look like you should have the longer portion up under the thigh, and the shorter portion behind the calf. But this orientation was actually painful to try and walk with. So we were only able to really attempt to use them with the short end under the thigh, and the long end behind the calf.We would not recommend this item in the future. ### ⭐⭐ Did not receive brand/features advertised, poor quality *by K***P on June 6, 2023* (I did not read any other reviews prior to writing this.)The good: I received a pair of "power knee stabilizer pads."The bad: The brand I received is not the brand advertised.The pads I received do not have the same features as the ones advertised - there is no logo which is apparently important for orientation, and there is no way to loop the straps together. They do not fit (no sizing information was in the advertisement), and under different circumstances, I would provide my measurements. However, it's not worth my time as I will describe below.The ugly: These are cheap crap. Everything about them, except for maybe the actual springs, is cheap crap. I don't think they are neoprene - they don't look like any other neoprene braces I have (I have a BUNCH). The material does not stretch the way I would expect neoprene to stretch. If I wrap the straps so that both velcro ends contact the back plate, it barely fits my forearm.
