It is a compromise.
The screen is darks than that of Sonoff. However, this device uses an AAA battery, while Sonoff uses a CR cell.When you short-press the button, the backlight kicks in. Sonoff has no backlight, not to mention the time display.On Home Assistant, temperature and Humidity is available to through MQTT.

Such a shame, does not work with Smartthings Hub, or Matter... must use their proprietary hub..
It is such a shame this temperature sensor doesn't work with Smartthings zigbee hub, since it is one of the better built, it only works with their own proprietary hardware.

Poor battery life and doesn't work natively with Home Assistant
It's a nice form factor, time on the screen for instance, but when left alone (no daily physical interaction with the single button) the three AAA batteries only last 11 days.There is decent support for Tuya sensors in Home Assistance, but this one (ZTH08) seems to require non-standard communication from a coordinator. Any connectivity basically requires using the Tuya Home Life app which requires creating an account using your phone number. Attempts to create external converters or custom quirks partially work at best. For instance, it seems that nobody can get battery level reporting or calibration on the screen to work....and pressing the single button engages the backlight BUT causes all communication from the device to stop!
