## Description

The new ART ProMPA II is the next generation in affordable high performance microphone preamp technology. Each microphone input circuit, with selectable 48v phantom power, features variable input impedance which can radically vary the overall performance of any high quality dynamic or ribbon microphone. The ProMPA II can be configured for dual mono or stereo operation with selectable mid/side mic support, summing the adjacent channel, to decode left/right signals. The ProMPA II can operate at either a low or high plate voltage on the two integrated hand-selected 12AX7 tubes for wider variation of preamp tone and performance. Large back-lit analogue VU output meters display output levels while multi-coloured LED arrays show tube gain. Housed in a standard 2u space rack-mountable steel chassis, with CNC routed black anodised aluminium face panel, the ProMPA II is designed to deliver years of reliable operation in the studio, production facility, or on the road for live sound reinforcement.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Anybody tried the MPAII with high quality condensers? I want to try it with a pair of Audix scx25a's, wondering if it will warm up the sound.**
A: I've used it with both AKG 414s and a TLM103 and was pleased with the unit's ability.  I did mess with the controls a bit to "tune in" the nicest sound.  This particular preamp got a very high rating in Sound On Sound Magazines Mic Pre "shoot out."  They put it up against Pres costing several times more and it actually won praises in several categories.  Warning:  I bought (2), returned one as non working. Now the second unit is having meter issues. (meter light tuns on and off randomly.

**Q: will this work in europe? the picture says 250 volt, but there are some confusing answers by the community...**
A: There is no switch but by the power plug input there is a fuse (250V / 0.5A). My best guess is there are EU versions with different fuses for different power loads but I would call ART to be sure. It may work out of the box!

**Q: Will changing the tubes void the warranty?**
A: I don't know. It may.

**Q: What are the steps on how I can connect this to my Scarlett Focusrite 2i2 audio interface? I'm al planning to upgrade to the 6i6, any differences?**
A: I'd recommend skipping the 6i6 and going up to the 18i8 or 18i20 the 6i6 doesn't have enough inputs. In terms of audio quality you won't notice an improvement between Scarlett they all sound good
