It looks good and is a quality product. If something happened to it I would buy again.

A: even better than fgx830 and fgx830 is the fgx830

**Q: Hi. is it really solid top? love the guitar sound, but i see a little seam going across the top dividing it into two halves? tnx**
A: The top is book-matched solid sitka spruce. All better wood acoustics use the same technique as it gives better resonant vibration across the top. If you look at the center seam, then proceed out on both sides the grain spacing / growth ring pattern is nearly identical. Solid top is used as opposed to plywood / laminated tops used in lower quality instruments.

**Q: Yahama fg 830 is a dreadnought.  other fg830's are bundled with accessories but are not  dreadnoughts.  same price.  i'm a beginner.  what to buy?**
A: FG830 etc. is dreadnought size - no cutaway. FS is concert size (a bit smaller). The FG830C is cutaway.

**Q: Is there a difference in sound quality between the Acoustic / Acoustic - Electric versions?**
A: They will be very similar in sound - the only difference is that you can plug the acoustic/electric into an amplifier.  Thank you.

Yamaha makes very nice acoustic guitars on a budget. Meant to get larger guitar but ordered small. As soon as it arrived realized our mistake, didn't open the box and wrote to exchange for larger. Customer service was dreadful and it was a big fight to finally exchange it.

I absolutely love this guitar, it’s slightly smaller size makes is 2x more comfortable to play. I wish I didn’t worry so much about it being smaller, I would buy it again in a heart beat. Absolutely beautiful design and build quality, you won’t be let down. Packaging was very good! Two thumbs up.
