Used one of these sensors to replace a rechargeable Z-Wave sensor that had to be recharged every four months, necessitating reaching it via stepladders, a real pain. The new Shelly sensor has been operating for over three months now and remaining (cheap) battery life is still 95% Fast response for a sensor at this price point. Usual high Shelly quality. Works with the Shelly app or with Home Assistant using a Bluetooth proxy such as the one built in to many Shelly devices.

A: Download the Shelly BLE Debug APP and proceed with OTA FW update from there. Activate the Bluetooth gateway, and then retry inclusion to Shelly Smart Control app. For further help, turn to support.shelly.cloud.

**Q: Shelly BLU Door/Window battery is draining quickly?**
A: The device might have stuck in bootloader mode. Remove it from your Bluetooth settings and perform manual update. Insert the battery into your device and then run slow OTA update in Shelly Debug App.

**Q: Do I need a gateway for my Shelly BLU Door/Window?**
A: To use this device with the Shelly Smart Control app, a gateway is required. Compatible gateways are Shelly BLU Gateway, or any Shelly Plus, Pro or Gen3 device (excluding sensors).

Excellent sensors. Very long battery life using BLE technology.
