No instructions supplied on how to connect but it's fairly straight forward Review: Know what you are buying - Anyone saying this these devices cannot possibly work because they are not fully wired is wrong, 10 & 100Mb/s only needs two pairs (Orange & Green) of wires out of the four for Data in a standard Ethernet cable, these devices effective strip out the other two pairs (Blue & Brown) between your network switch & the remotely located device & use these pairs to extend the power, the RJ45 plugs connect into your switch & the same at the remote end, the female RJ45 sockets connect to your cabling between the local & remote locations. You are never going to get Gigabit speeds from these devices as 1Gbs needs all four pairs within the Ethernet cable, I tried mine ovver my longest cable run of around 35m & they worked fine, cabling quality & distance will affect the ability for these to work effectively. I'm using mine to power a 4G/LTE router which is loacted in the loft as that's where it gets the best 4G/LTE signal, I could easily run an Ethernet cable to the loft but not mains power, for me these PoE injector/splitters are a godsend as my 4G speed only peaks at 35Mb/s well within the 100Mb/s that in theory would be possible using these devices.
