They are excellent for use on any solid substrate (concrete, brick, block etc). **Q: Can the screw be longer than the anchor. The anchor is going into 6cm wood panelling** A: I'm not sure these fixings are the right answer for wood panelling. Are you aiming to drill through to the wall behind the panelling? If not and you are relying on fixing into the wood, I don't see the advantage of using fixings rather than wood screws.
