Superb monitor, especially at the price.
I purchased this to use as a 4k monitor with my mid-2015 MacBook Pro (with the AMD Radeon R9 M370X 2 GB graphics card). It works beautifully with this set-up, when connected via DisplayPort (you will need a mini-DP to DP cable for this). Set-up was easiest with DP: I tried it with DP to HDMI before I had the correct cable, and although it worked fine it the scaling settings are not quite as straightforward as when you connect with DP to DP.Initially, there is a small bit of shimmer on the screen as it warms up for the first 10-20 seconds but it soon settles down and disappears. When adjusting colour, don't mess around with the colour maps in your settings. Set them directly on the monitor. Eventually I found that the "Eco" settings (a dedicated button exists on the panel) had the most effect and I was able to get what I wanted without messing around in the other image settings within the monitor's menu system.Having now had some experience I would warn anyone that it may feel anti-climatic when you first plug any 4k monitor in and realise that the image is not to your taste. Don't be disheartened though, persevere and you will be highly rewarded.I have ended up using this monitor in mirroring-mode (rather than extended mode) with my MBP, as the screen area (28") is definitely all I need (I do a lot of content creation (writing and diagramming) and development and analysis (Python and MATLAB) work and find that I don't need my MBP screen to be available as well. Now I have lived with this monitor for a few weeks (I spend 8-10 hours a day working on it), I can say I am mega-impressed with it and consider it fantastic value. I highly recommend it.One further bonus is that my aged Lenovo T430 i5 laptop connects (DP to HDMI) perfectly and the (scaled, non-4k) image is absolutely brilliant.

new screen to use with my Macbook pro that gave me a real good definition for text files
I had been looking round for . new screen to use with my Macbook pro that gave me a real good definition for text files, such as iTerm terminals and PyCharm and Gogland editors etc. I do not play games on a computer but do a lot of intensive editing work and this terminal is spot on. Brilliant.I have been an iiyama user for years and they are , again and sorry, brilliant.

Great gaming monitor, terrible office monitor.
I bought this to use it for office work with my laptop. This monitor is not suitable for that application. It has all the worst characteristics of a TN type monitor. The contrast is poor, and changes marked as you change angle - so if you sit it across a desk, you get wildly different greys at the top and bottom of the screen. The included stand is really good, the speakers are usefully loud, and the USB hub is really useful. So as a gaming monitor, sitting six feet away from you, it is excellent. As a office monitor, it is almost unusable, and you would be far better off with an IPS panel.

Colour calibration & colour quality is poor, also max brightness is low.
We bought two of these to use alongside our MacBooks for web development. We didn't expect them to be nearly as good as the Mac screens, but we also didn't expect them to be *so* poor. We have tried countless colour calibrations with no success (using Apples built in calibration tool, colour profiles and also adjusting the settings on the monitor) - all in vain. The monitors are also not terribly bright and we quickly got headaches straining to read it. Very unfortunate. Am returning them.

No response to questions.....Avoid....
Do not buy from this seller.... They do not respond to emails. I've been chasing them for a copy of invoice so I can send monitor back to iiyama as covered by 3 year guarantee.... Even Amazon have contacted them on my behalf and still no response...Read other reviews. .. I'm not the only one..... So avoid.....

Good monitor with a good range of features.
This is a great monitor but the price varies considerably between suppliers. I bought it for the high resolution, speakers, adjustable height, VESA mount, multiple input connections and display facilities.
