Very effective IR transmitter
Using a raspberry pi 4 and a S8050 transistor I'm running 300mA through it in quick pulses and it works as well as the remote control my AC unit came with, at least distance wise, not beam width. It needs to be pointed directly at the receiver but that's not a problem for me. Note, the product page on Adafruit says it's rated for 100 mA continuous, 1000 mA pulse.

I love this! Great product!
The media could not be loaded. I use a transistor to amplified the signal with 3.71v and they run smoothly. I really love them!

Good Value
The beam is a little narrow and must be pointed right at the receiver, but other than that these work as expected.

Great replacement for the cheap Chinese Chronographs
I shot one of the LEDs off with an airgun. These were a great replacement.

Good performance
I'm using these with a PiZero and IR camera with good results. I Run them off +5 through 2 100 ohm 1/2 watt resistors in parallel to limit heat and provide 100 mA to the LED ( 5V/50 Ohm = 100 mA). Check the data sheet listed above. The beam is 20 degrees and worked well for my application.
