Ideal for aromatherapy, topical use (when diluted), and natural insect repellent, this versatile oil blends ancient beauty traditions with modern wellness needs. Perfect for millennials seeking a holistic, luxurious self-care ritual. ## Description Product description member of the Pelargonium genus of flower species, geraniums are cultivated for their beauty and as a focal point of the perfume industry. While there are over 200 different varieties of geranium flowers, only a few are used as essential oils. The uses of geranium essential oil date back to ancient Egypt when the Egyptians used geranium oil to beautify the skin and for other benefits. In the Victorian era, fresh geranium leaves were placed at formal dining tables as decorative pieces and to be consumed as a fresh sprig if desired; in fact, the plant's edible leaves and flowers are often used in desserts, cakes, jellies, and teas. As an essential oil, geranium has been used to promote the appearance of clear skin and healthy hair, making it ideal for skin and hair care products. It also helps to calm the nerves and reduce feelings of stress. Geranium is also known to naturally repel insects. Used for facial steam aromatherapy to beautify the skin. Add one drop to your moisturizer for a smoothing effect. Geranium is great for both dry and oily hair. Apply a few drops to your shampoo or conditioner or create your own deep conditioner for hair. Diffuse aromatically for a calming effect. Directions for use: Use three to four drops in your diffuser of choice. Internal use: Dilute one drop in 4 fl. oz. of liquid. I use it for my homemade creams and love it ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Five Stars *by A***R on 18 August 2017* Arrived on time great product ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Over all very very happy! *by C***N on 20 April 2017* When it comes to the smell of this you will either love it or hate it (as you will also notice from other peoples reviews) as for me I really like the smell and amazingly enough my dogs LOVE the smell. They went right for the bottle as soon as I had it out of the package and you could start to smell the scent. Since that response was so good I immediately put some in my diffuser (4 drops to max water) and it has permeated the rooms quite efficiently. Compared to some of the other oils this goes a long way. According to the modern essentials book I have it says the aromatic influence of this oil is....it may help to release negative memories and take a person back to peaceful, joyful moments. It can help with nervous tension and stress. It can help balance emotions and lift the spirit....and it can foster peace, well being and hope. In dogs I read an article on line that said it is gentle and safe. Its a good antifungal. good for skin irritations, fungal ear infections and effective in repelling ticks. I know we will be getting a lot of use out of this oil. I am glad I decided to buy it. I was also very happy with the prompt delivery of this product. Only a couple days! Wow! I love buying from amazon and the various companies that work with them to provide these products for us. Amazon is so convenient.
