Review: Good light. - Bought to light up a dark passage way. Works very well. LEDs may not have as many lumens as a 300w security floodlight, but they produce more than enough light to see by with the added bonus of being very economical - solar powered. Light is bright white cool tone. Twin light heads can be rotated and directed to where you want the light as well as the sensor (PIR sensitive to body movement and also a photocell for the light levels). Can alter the duration the security light stays on, darkness level before it activates and sensitivity (distance to detected movement) of the sensor. Solar panel on a 5m lead allows the light be placed in or near a dark area and the panel in a well lit one so it gets charged up properly. There is no way to shorten this lead without affecting the integrity of the unit, so if you are placing the solar panel near the security light a cable tidy or two might be useful. You might also want to consider cable clips for keeping the cable tidy anyway, depending on how you install it. Installation easy. So long as you can drill holes where you want it and the separate solar panal placed. Note you'll need two different sized drills as the screws and rawlplugs for the sesor (x4) and secutiry light (x2) are different sizes to each other. Importantly remember to switch on the solar panal (there's a seperate switch under it) as it has the battery unit in it or the whole thing won't work :-).

I decided to look for an LED replacement to do my bit for the planet. The price was reasonable and looked sturdy so I took the plunge. The unit came with enough battery charge to enable me to have a play with the controls indoors at twilight to adjust the timing and ambient light settings. The fitting of the solar panel was easy and my only gripe was that in order to mount the light's fixing bracket, you have to undo the two side nuts and remove the light. Putting the nuts screws back together, at hight, in the cold, and with one pair of hands was a bit tricky as the nut is on the inside and a bit fiddly to hold in place while trying to engage the screw. Eventually, I managed to find a bit of blue tack to hold the nuts in place and got the unit mounted. The PIR was the last thing to adjust and there was no problem adjusting for the required area of pick-up. The beam is surprisingly powerful, easily covering the required area of apx 30 square yards. The light has been working fine for three months and I would recommend it to anyone who has a spare blob of blue tack.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Are they waterproof?**
A: I have one installed on the front of my house which worked perfectly for 30mths handling everything weather could throw at it then the PIR sensitivity deteriorated, I found condensation on the inside of the PIR lens due to a crack. I contacted powerbee who supplied me the part to rectify the fault FOC and my light is working again. I've now purchased another one for the side of my house and considering purchasing a third.

**Q: Is this product IP44 rated please?**
A: not sure but my powerbee did allow condensation etc in so I would say no? but after having 3 different lights replaced that all failed within a few months before refusing to charge etc I binned it and wouldn't bother with another. total waste of money but during the few months that it did work it was great just utter rubbish in the long term

**Q: Battery replacement please**
A: I have not had to replace any battery as yet

**Q: Does this have a backup mains supply?**
A: No it's a sola light there are no mains back up

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Good Product

Long version I bought this product to add security to my off road parking. I live near a secondary school and my car has had mischief done to it a few times, nothing serious just kids being silly. So i bought this light needing solar power as I have no way of getting power to the parking spot. In the first week this light already detered a young lad from setting off the alarm, the look on his face was priceless when the light lit him up (i got a security camera as well). The light comes with some tuning options which work well but require some trial and error. The sensitvity and range of the detector is great, it works 20 meters for me. Just a little niggle, the swivel on the solar panel is not perfect you can only make it go 45deg from the axis, if you dont have a south facing vertical wall you will have to mount the bracket horizontally (on top of a wall/roof), you cannot for instance face the panel south while mounted on a east facing wall. Short Version Good light, works perfectly, bright enough, and charges perfectly even on dull days (south facing mounted). Delivery was fine as well.
